Chau Que Ha speeds up the progress of rural road construction

Coming to Khe Banh village in late April, we were surprised by the changes in this countryside. The most obvious change is the change in the rural traffic routes. The images of the muddy trails and dirt roads of the past are no longer there, instead are concrete roads stretching to the end of the village. Being a particularly difficult village, the transportation system in Khe Banh used to be mainly dirt roads and trails, and the 216 households in the village were all Dao ethnic people.

Determining the goal of completing the rural traffic system is an important condition to promote local socio -economic development. From the State's support resources, Khe Banh village focuses on mobilizing people to contribute money, labor, and land to concretize rural traffic roads. Since the beginning of the year, people in the village have donated nearly 800m2 of land, trees and crops, and contributed more than 200 million VND to concretize 1km of the village's main road, contributing to bringing the rate of concretized rural traffic roads in the village to over 90%.

Mr. Trieu Ton Lin - Head of Khe Banh village shared: "Through village meetings, we mobilize each household to contribute money according to their ability, and at the same time, we propagate people to respond to the "Movement of land donation" to create a ripple effect among the people, striving to achieve 100% of rural roads and over 80% of village branch roads and production roads concreted by the end of 2025".

Nhuoc village is also a typical village in rural transport development. In the period of 2023 - 2025, the village has concreted more than 10 km of rural transport roads and opened nearly 5 km of new dirt roads. From the beginning of 2025 to now, the village has concreted nearly 1 km of rural transport roads and opened more than 1 km of new dirt roads, contributing to raising the rate of concreted inter-village roads to over 95%, and production roads to over 75%. Mr. Hoang Xuan Vi, a resident of Nhuoc village, happily shared: "Completed traffic contributes to promoting economic development and facilitating trade of goods. Aware of this, my family voluntarily demolished about 400 m2 of residential and production land to widen the roadbed and sidewalks".

Effectively implementing the Rural Transport Development Project for the period of 2021 - 2025, in recent times, Chau Que Ha commune has focused on solutions, mobilized resources, promoted socialization to solidify and expand rural roads. Accordingly, in the first phase of 2025, the commune registered to implement nearly 6 km, including opening a new roadbed of 1 km, concreting rural roads, production roads of nearly 4.5 km; concreting the road surface from 3m to 5m is 1.5 km. The commune has mobilized people to contribute nearly 1.4 billion VND, donating over 2,500 m2 of residential land, mixed gardens, and crops. Thanks to the focused urging as well as the unanimous participation of the people, up to now, the commune has completed the set plan.

Mr. Nguyen Van Quang - Chairman of the Commune People's Committee said: "Developing rural traffic infrastructure not only creates conditions to promote socio-economic development but also has important significance for the commune to strive and complete the construction of a commune that meets advanced new rural standards by the end of 2025".

With the determination of the entire political system, the consensus of the people, with the motto "The State and the people work together", up to now, the commune's traffic system has been basically completed, inter-village roads and intra-field roads have been concreted to nearly 100%. Convenient traffic has contributed significantly to promoting the socio-economic development of the locality. By the end of 2024, the average income per capita of the commune will reach nearly 60 million VND/year, the poverty rate will decrease to 9.7%.

The outstanding results of rural transport not only change the appearance and character of Chau Que Ha countryside but also create a synchronous connection between the important national traffic axis and the local traffic system. Thereby, creating conditions for the production process to be continuous and rapid, expanding the raw material area, attracting investors and businesses to invest in agriculture and rural areas, contributing to job creation, poverty reduction and improving the quality of life of local people.
