Promote strengths

Chairman of Chau Thanh District People's Committee Le Ky Quang said that under the leadership and direction of the District Party Committee, the management of the District People's Committee, the supervision of the District People's Council, and the efforts and consensus of the sectors, localities and people, the socio -economic situation of the district continues to change positively, developing in a sustainable direction. Trade, service, cultural and social activities are developing bustlingly and vibrantly. Economic recovery and development policies are focused on implementation, thereby contributing to stabilizing and improving people's lives.

In 2024, Chau Thanh district achieved and exceeded 12/12 socio-economic targets set out in the Resolution of the District People's Council. The economic structure shifted in a positive direction, the production value (GO) at 2010 comparative prices was over 17,978 billion VND, reaching 103.25% of the yearly plan. Budget revenue and expenditure were implemented synchronously and drastically from the beginning of the year. Total budget revenue in the area reached over 112 billion VND, an increase of 122.75% compared to 2023. People's lives were improved, average income per capita was 72.87 million VND; the poverty rate decreased to 1.82%; political security and social order and safety continued to be maintained...

With the strength of agricultural production, the Standing Committee of the District Party Committee focuses on leading the development of a sustainable and comprehensive agricultural economy. Actively promoting the transformation of agricultural structure in accordance with the conditions of each locality. At the same time, encouraging farmers to apply science and technology in production to improve productivity, quality, and reduce the cost of agricultural products. Up to now, the structure and quality of economic development in the area have gradually changed positively. The production value (GO) at current prices of the agricultural, forestry and fishery sector in 2024 is nearly 5,161 billion VND, reaching 103.05% compared to 2023.

At the same time, Chau Thanh district continues to implement many solutions to encourage investment; focus on reviewing and completing land and construction planning; increase investment in essential infrastructure, create favorable conditions for land, site clearance to create clean land funds, promote administrative procedure reform... to create the best conditions for businesses when choosing Chau Thanh as an investment destination. Departments, branches and local authorities promote a sense of responsibility, promptly remove difficulties and obstacles for businesses. Rural development

With the great efforts and determination of the entire political system, Chau Thanh has had new ways of doing things, creating rapid changes in the countryside here. The district mobilized resources, aroused the initiative and creativity of the people in building new rural areas, with the motto "do the easy things first, do the difficult things later", "complete each criterion firmly". At the same time, actively participated in social security activities, mobilized people to build bridges and rural roads, and eliminated temporary and dilapidated houses. Infrastructure, schools, village roads, and alleys were built solidly, spaciously, and beautifully, and people's lives improved significantly...

Up to now, the whole district has 9/11 communes recognized by the province as meeting new rural standards, while the remaining 2 communes are completing procedures to request the province to recognize them. An Chau and Vinh Binh towns have met civilized urban standards. The district has basically met the "New Rural District" criteria according to Decision 558/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister. Chairman of Chau Thanh District People's Committee Le Ky Quang said: "The above results are due to the district continuing to enhance the role of the political system, determined to maintain and improve the quality of the achieved targets and criteria. At the same time, proactively coordinate with provincial departments, branches and sectors to remove difficulties, propose solutions and specific implementation roadmaps, determined to complete the task of building a "New Rural District" in 2025".

Creating momentum for development

Chau Thanh District Party Secretary Le Bich Phuong said that in order to successfully implement the Resolution of the District Party Congress for the 2020-2025 term, Party committees at all levels focused on reviewing and making efforts to achieve and exceed the socio-economic development targets for 2025 and the entire term, right from the beginning of the year. The district focused on speeding up the progress of basic construction projects, especially key projects; continuing to promote agricultural restructuring, developing agricultural production towards high-tech application.

Focus on improving the quality of human resources, especially skilled and qualified human resources, to meet the requirements of socio-economic development. In addition, promote socialization, mobilize people to carry out rural bridge and road projects; support production development and promote investment in health, education, and infrastructure; strictly control revenue sources, prevent tax losses; strengthen vocational training, create jobs, and improve people's lives.

Along with socio-economic development is the improvement of the political system, Chau Thanh District Party Committee focuses on building, consolidating, and improving the leadership capacity and fighting strength of grassroots Party organizations; focusing on arranging and streamlining the organizational apparatus. At the same time, continuing to innovate the working methods and leadership methods of Party committees at all levels; improving the quality of activities of the front and socio-political organizations associated with effectively implementing the study and following of Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality, and lifestyle and resolutions and directives of the province and the Central Government, contributing to building a clean and strong Party organization.

In addition, it is necessary to strengthen inspection and supervision work, improve the quality of activities of grassroots Party organizations; persistently fight against corruption and negativity. Promote the role of the mass mobilization system, the Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations in mobilizing people to actively participate in campaigns and patriotic emulation movements... contributing to the successful implementation of assigned political tasks."
