Supporting the family of a 4-month-old baby who fell into a canal and handling false information

On October 25, the People's Committee of An Bien commune (An Giang province) worked with the family of Ms. Le Thi Kieu, the mother of a 4-month-old baby who unfortunately fell into the Xeo Ro canal and died (October 20).

Vice Chairman of An Bien Commune People's Committee Vo Thanh Toan presented support money to Le Thi Kieu's family.

At the meeting, the People's Committee of An Bien commune presented 10 million VND in support, sharing the difficulties and pain of Ms. Kieu's family's loss. The total amount of money that the local government and benefactors have supported Ms. Le Thi Kieu's family to date is more than 70 million VND.

Currently, Mr. Nguyen Tan Dien, Head of Hamlet 2, An Bien Commune, is temporarily holding 70 million VND for the family, and plans to open a savings account to take care of the future of Ms. Kieu's children. The remaining amount of money supported by benefactors will be kept by the family to cover living expenses.

Local authorities are coordinating to review and survey public land funds, finding solutions to support stable housing for Ms. Kieu's family.

Regarding the incident, An Bien Commune Police said that on social networks, there was a lot of false information such as "Provincial Police investigating Ms. Kieu", "Prosecuting the case", "The child's mother has many husbands", "Staging the scene to defraud charity money"... The police agency affirmed that the above content was completely untrue. The incident was determined to be an accident, with no signs of crime.

An Bien Commune Police are coordinating with relevant agencies to track down and handle account owners who posted fabricated information, causing public confusion and affecting the honor and psychology of the victim's family.
