Women's Union of Giong Rieng commune helps 68 members escape poverty

On the afternoon of October 25, the Women's Union of Giong Rieng commune (An Giang province) held the 1st Congress of Delegates, term 2025 - 2030.

Representatives of the An Giang Provincial Women's Union and the Party Committee of Giong Rieng Commune took a photo with the Executive Committee of the Women's Union of Giong Rieng Commune for the 2025 - 2030 term.

The Congress announced the decision of the An Giang Provincial Women's Union to appoint an Executive Committee of the Women's Union of Giong Rieng commune consisting of 41 members. Ms. Nguyen Thi Bach Tuyet holds the position of President of the Women's Union of Giong Rieng commune for the 2025-2030 term.

During the past term, the Women's Union of Giong Rieng commune completed and exceeded 8/8 resolution targets, developed 505 new members, reaching 112%; helped 68 poor and near-poor women's households escape poverty, reaching 136%, contributing to reducing the poverty rate of the whole commune to 1.14%.

The Association maintains 170 clubs, groups, and teams with 3,733 members; effectively deploys the models "Family of 5 no, 3 clean", start-up movement and the "Godmother" and "Accompanying women in the border areas" programs...

In the 2025 - 2030 term, the Women's Union of Giong Rieng commune strives to help at least 10 women's households escape poverty every year. By the end of the term, it will support 1 business household owned by women to convert into an enterprise; establish 1 cooperative with women participating in management; 100% of the Union's staff will be proficient in using digital platforms...
