These pages use the name, images, and symbols of the Mobile Police Force to build trust and attract followers, while simultaneously spreading unverified content that misleads the public. Notably, the perpetrators also entice viewers to click on suspicious links or provide personal information, posing a risk of fraud and theft.
In An Giang province, several parents in Rach Gia ward were lured into participating in an "experiential program" advertised as being organized at the Rach Gia Ward Police Station. Upon registration, the organizers requested personal information of the children and their relatives, showing signs of exploiting this information to commit illegal acts.
The Mobile Police Unit of the An Giang Provincial Police Department affirms that it does not organize any program called "No Touch of Screen with Mobile Police." The public, especially parents, are urged to be vigilant, avoid accessing suspicious links; not provide personal information to accounts of unknown origin; not transfer money or register to participate in "programs" advertised on social media; and if they discover a fake page, they should immediately report it to the nearest police station for guidance and action.
An Giang Provincial Police recommend that people regularly verify information through official channels of the Ministry of Public Security and local police to avoid being exploited and scammed.
