This afternoon (June 17), a fishing boat of fishermen while anchored at the fishing port on Dong Tranh River, in Long Hoa Commune, Can Gio District, Ho Chi Minh City suddenly caught fire, then the fire spread to two neighboring boats.

According to the Chief of Long Hoa Border Guard Station - Ho Chi Minh City Border Guard, at around 3:00 p.m. on June 17, a fishing boat of fishermen after the Whale Welcome Ceremony, anchored at Long Hoa fishing port, suddenly caught fire fiercely. When the fire was discovered, the fishermen tried to put it out but could not control the fire.
Upon receiving the information, Long Hoa Border Guard Station quickly dispatched 15 officers and soldiers to the scene, coordinating with the Fire Prevention and Fighting Police - Can Gio District Police to extinguish the fire and rescue.
The forces have organized to pull boats and ships around the area where the fire could spread. However, at this time, the Dong Tranh River has receded, making it difficult to move the vehicles.

After nearly an hour and a half of firefighting, the fire was basically under control. However, the fire completely burned down the cabin, engine compartment, and fishing gear of the two ships. Another ship had its stern burned. Fortunately, the fire did not cause any human casualties.
Currently, the property damage and cause of the fire are being verified, counted, and investigated by Long Hoa Station in coordination with related units.
