House fire in Hanoi, 3 people died

Early this morning, a four-story house on Dinh Cong Ha Street, Hoang Mai District caught fire, killing three people.

At around 3:15 a.m., a fire suddenly broke out on the second floor of a house deep in alley 99 Dinh Cong Ha street, then quickly spread to the upper floors. At that time, there were four people in the house, including a couple, their child and their mother.

As soon as the fire was discovered, people nearby shouted and tried to put it out with mini fire extinguishers but failed. The heat of the fire broke the glass on all floors, making it difficult to access the house.

People living in adjacent houses quickly evacuated and opened windows to create an escape route for those trapped inside, witnesses said.

About 10 minutes after the fire broke out, the fire department and rescue police dispatched 4 fire trucks and dozens of officers and soldiers to the scene. They divided into two teams, one focused on spraying water to put out the fire from the outside and the other team wore gas masks and oxygen tanks to search for victims inside the house.

The wife was found first and was quickly taken to the emergency room. By around 4:30, the fire was completely under control. Authorities continued searching and by 4:40, the bodies of the remaining three people were discovered.

The house that caught fire was rented by the couple and has a floor area of ​​about 40 square meters. The third floor of the house has a balcony and an emergency exit. Because the family is in the business of organizing fairs, the house contains many flammable materials. Authorities are investigating the cause of the fire.
