The People's Committee of Dong Thap province has just issued the 2025 Public Investment Plan to implement the National Target Program on Sustainable Poverty Reduction, period 2021-2025. The specific objectives of the Plan are to support the purchase of health insurance cards for 100% of poor households and near-poor households; ensure loans for 100% of poor households, near-poor households, and households escaping poverty who are eligible and have a need to borrow capital to develop production and business; exempt and reduce tuition fees, and support study costs for over 15,000 students.
Along with that, strive to support 1,000 poor people of working age who want to learn a trade to receive vocational training, coaching and career orientation, and be given priority in job referrals to have stable jobs; improve housing for 1,500 poor households with housing difficulties; implement and build projects to support production development, diversify livelihoods, and sustainable poverty reduction model projects to achieve 100% according to the capital allocation plan...
The main result is to reduce the poverty rate by 0.4%/year in 2025 according to the multidimensional poverty standard in Decree No. 07/2021/ND-CP dated January 27, 2021 of the Government , the average income of poor households increased by 1.8 times compared to the end of 2020.
The total capital to implement the Program in 2025 is more than 102 billion VND, of which the central budget is more than 75 billion VND, the local budget is more than 7 billion VND, and other legally mobilized capital is more than 19 billion VND.
