Food Safety and Hygiene Department: Inspected more than 260 food establishments

Since the beginning of the year, the Food Safety and Hygiene Department has coordinated with relevant units to establish 33 inspection teams at more than 260 food production, business and service establishments. Thereby, 5 establishments were found to be in violation and administrative fines were proposed with a total amount of more than 32 million VND. The violations were mainly due to the establishments not performing 3-step food inspection; not ensuring cross-contamination prevention between unprocessed and processed food in the kitchen; storing food in unsanitary equipment, tools and materials...

The results of monitoring 527 food samples showed that more than 93% of samples met the standards, 3.8% of samples had no results yet, 2.7% of samples did not meet the standards, concentrated in the group of pre-processed products and ready-to-use ice.

The results of a quick test of cooked food containers at the collective kitchen of Khanh Hoa Salanganes Nest Beverage Joint Stock Company all passed.

Along with that, the provincial health sector has issued 278 food safety certificates and received 73 self-declared products. These efforts show that management work is increasingly going into depth, not only handling violations but also aiming at proactive monitoring and preventing risks early and from a distance.
