The Hanoi Department of Education and Training has announced the Lunar New Year holiday schedule for 2026 for schools in the area, requiring strict adherence to the directives of the Central Government and the City.

The Hanoi Department of Education and Training has just announced the holiday schedule for New Year's Day and Lunar New Year (Year of the Horse) in 2026 to all units and schools in the area. Accordingly, the New Year's Day holiday in 2026 for officials, civil servants and employees of the Department of Education and Training; kindergartens, primary schools, secondary schools, high schools, vocational education and continuing education centers, vocational schools, and the Hanoi Education Cadre Training School will be one day (January 1, 2026, Thursday).

The Lunar New Year holiday in 2026 (Year of the Horse) will be 5 days long, including 1 day before Tet and 4 days after Tet, from Monday, February 16, 2026 (corresponding to the 29th day of the 12th lunar month of the Year of the Snake) to Friday, February 20, 2026 (corresponding to the 4th day of the 1st lunar month of the Year of the Horse).

The Department of Education and Training requests that all units and schools thoroughly understand and strictly implement all documents and directives from the Central Government and the City regarding the organization of activities for the 2026 New Year and the 2026 Lunar New Year (Year of the Horse).

Schools will announce the specific holiday schedule for the 2026 New Year and the 2026 Lunar New Year (Year of the Horse) to all staff, teachers, employees, and students. In addition, schools will arrange and organize on-call departments according to regulations and work efficiently to ensure continuous service, assigning staff to be on duty to handle any unexpected or urgent matters that may arise during the holiday period.

Based on actual conditions, units should pay attention to and care for the material and spiritual lives of cadres, teachers, staff, and students; organize visits and assistance for cadres, teachers, and families under policy categories or with difficult circumstances; and practice thrift and combat wastefulness before, during, and after the Lunar New Year holiday in 2026.

After the Lunar New Year holiday, units are working diligently to restore normal teaching, learning, and work routines.
