The 'key' for Tan Ky to unlock its potential

New projects take off

These days, in the joyful and exciting atmosphere, with practical activities towards the 60th anniversary of the district's founding, on key projects and works of Tan Ky district, the construction atmosphere is also urgent and exciting.

Attending the project to expand and upgrade provincial road 534D (the road connecting Tan An intersection to the inner communes: Huong Son, Phu Son and Nghia Hanh) shows that the contractor mobilized maximum means, machinery and human resources to implement in the most urgent manner. People in these inner communes are eagerly waiting for an asphalt road with sturdy bridges, opening up opportunities to exploit the potential for economic development.

Mr. Nguyen Viet Khang - a farmer in Huong Son commune excitedly expressed: For generations, our people have been traveling on dirt roads, in the rainy season it is muddy, many sections are flooded, isolated for many days. Not only is it difficult for people to travel, many agricultural and forestry products of the people are difficult to sell, even damaged. Therefore, when the State invested in expanding and upgrading this road, everyone was excited, eager to complete it soon so that people could travel conveniently, children could go to school safely, and the locality could have conditions to develop the economy.

According to the Tan Ky District Project Management Board, with the consensus and voluntary donation of land by people living on both sides of the road, the site clearance work has been smooth. After nearly 4 months of construction, the contractor has cleared 9/18 km of the route; at the same time, many bridges and culverts on the route are being built as urgently as possible to complete before the rainy season. The project to expand and upgrade Road 534D was approved by the State with a total investment of more than 148 billion VND, implemented in 3 years, expected to be completed by the end of 2024.

People in Nghia Dung and Nghia Hop communes have just received a wide open road from the National Highway 15B Upgrade Project, after many years of waiting. Mr. Chu Van Thuan - Secretary of the Party Committee of Nghia Dung commune shared his joy: At the end of 2022, National Highway 15B will be put into use, making an important contribution to the locality reaching the finish line of new rural construction. With a new, wide, asphalted road, along with bridges and culverts being built solidly, people and children will travel more safely. This is also a key route for the locality to exploit its potential and develop its economy most favorably.

Good news for the people of Tan Ky district is that the N5 Road Project extending from Hoa Son commune (Do Luong) connecting with Ho Chi Minh road and Tan Long commune has been invested by the State and is currently being deployed by contractors.

In particular, in 2022, the Provincial People's Committee approved the policy of implementing the Roi 2 Bridge Project across the Con River to the North, avoiding traffic congestion at the Minh Anh Garment Factory and reducing traffic through the town, contributing to the development of the Northwest region of the district.

Thus, in the near future, Tan Ky district will have more key traffic projects, not only beautifying the homeland, but also contributing significantly to the locality's rapid economic development.

In addition to important transportation projects, Tan Ky district also received investment from the State in the 110KV Power Line Project with a total investment of over 181 billion VND, which has been basically completed. After putting this 110KV power line into operation, it will improve the quality of the national grid for customers in the district and create favorable conditions for the district to attract investment.

Promote agricultural and forestry development

An upgraded and connected transport network is the most favorable condition to promote the sustainable development of local agriculture and forestry.

As a land with many advantages for developing agricultural and forestry economy, Tan Ky district has identified key agricultural economic sectors. In addition to maintaining over 3,500 hectares of sugarcane to provide raw materials for the factory; maintaining 29,000 hectares of planted forests, Tan Ky district also focuses on implementing effective new crop models: sweet corn, potatoes... especially expanding the area of ​​​​South American yellow bananas.

From the model of growing South American golden bananas on more than 20 hectares of land in Dong Van, bringing high economic efficiency, Tan Ky district has had a policy of expanding the model of growing South American golden bananas to many areas.

After 12 years of implementing the National Target Program on New Rural Development, Tan Ky district now has 17/21 communes meeting new rural standards, 2 communes are striving to reach the advanced new rural standard in 2023. In the area, there are also 20 agricultural and handicraft products achieving "3 stars" OCOP at the provincial level.

Mr. Phan Van Giap - Chairman of Tan Ky District People's Committee said: Tan Ky is a locality known as a land where many objective and subjective factors converge to develop agriculture, forestry, mining, construction materials production and spiritual and ecological tourism...

Tan Ky has nearly 30,000 hectares of land for production forests, over 4,500 hectares planned for sugarcane cultivation, thousands of hectares of land for fruit trees, rubber trees... Mineral resources include white stone, limestone, clay for making bricks, tiles..., sand and gravel mines for the construction industry; the tourism sector is known for eco-tourism, cultural and spiritual tourism, and brocade weaving villages. However, to exploit that potential, it requires a convenient transportation system.

"The State's continued investment in upgrading and opening new key routes is a very favorable condition for Tan Ky district to exploit the potential for economic development in agriculture, forestry, industry and handicrafts; in particular, when the Roi 2 Bridge Project is implemented and completed, it will create conditions for 53,000 people of 8 western communes: Tan Long, Nghia Thai, Tan Phu, Nghia Hoan, Giai Xuan, Tan Hop... to travel more conveniently; create conditions for the development of a 600-hectare industrial park in Tan Phu commune, as well as reduce pressure on vehicles participating in traffic to the inner city area. This is a long-standing wish of Tan Ky district." - Mr. Phan Van Giap - Chairman of the District People's Committee shared.
