World gold price today May 30, 2025 and world gold price fluctuation chart in the past 24 hours
According to Kitco, the world gold price recorded at 3:30 p.m. today, Vietnam time, was 3,297.77 USD/ounce. Today's gold price increased by 14.38 USD/ounce compared to yesterday. Converted according to the USD exchange rate at Vietcombank (26,200 VND/USD), the world gold price is about 108.05 million VND/tael (excluding taxes and fees). Thus, the price of SJC gold bars is 10.57 million VND/tael higher than the international gold price.
Gold prices edged up on Friday but posted a weekly decline as the dollar strengthened slightly. Meanwhile, investors are awaiting a key US inflation report that could provide further clues on the Federal Reserve's monetary policy path.
Specifically, the spot gold price increased by 0.44% to nearly 3,300 USD/ounce. But for the whole week, the gold price decreased by 0.84%. The gold futures price in the US last week also decreased by 0.5% to 3,300.7 USD.
Yesterday, gold prices fell sharply after the US International Trade Court issued a ruling blocking the implementation of President Trump's "Liberation Day" tax decree. Today, the Federal Court suspended the ban from the Trade Court, pushing world gold prices up again.
"Gold prices are currently in a correction phase. The current fluctuations are a normal market phenomenon, just a slightly wider range due to confidence in the US dollar," said Brian Lan, CEO of GoldSilver Central in Singapore.
The Fed's preferred measure of inflation, the personal consumption expenditures (PCE) index, is due out tomorrow morning. Inflation is expected to have risen 2.2% in April, down slightly from 2.3% in March, according to a Reuters poll.
San Francisco Fed President Mary Daly said Thursday that policymakers could still cut interest rates twice this year, but should hold steady in the meantime to ensure inflation stays close to the central bank’s 2% target. Gold typically benefits in a low-interest-rate environment because it does not pay interest.
In India, physical demand for gold has fallen as domestic prices have risen and the end of the wedding season has dampened buyers’ appetite. Meanwhile, gold transaction fees in China, the largest consumer, have also fallen.
In addition to gold, silver fell 0.7% to $33.1 an ounce, platinum fell 0.6% to $1,076.33 and palladium fell 0.5% to $968.79.
