Female student got 10 points in Literature for 2024 high school graduation exam

According to statistics from the Ministry of Education and Training, in the recent high school graduation exam, the whole country only had 2 candidates who scored 10 in Literature, one of whom was from Ý Yên district, Nam Định . That was Phạm Quỳnh Anh, a 12th grade student at Mỹ Tho High School.

During her 12 years of schooling, Quynh Anh was a student at a public school in Nam Dinh. Although not a specialized school, since grade 6, the female student joined the school's Literature team and participated in many competitions for gifted students.

In high school, Quynh Anh was a member of the Nam Dinh Province Literature Team. She won third prize at the provincial level in grade 11 and second prize at the provincial level in grade 12. What is admirable about this female student is that 5 days before the provincial Literature competition, Quynh Anh had appendicitis and had to undergo surgery. After 4 days in the hospital, Quynh Anh asked to be discharged to take the exam and then returned for further treatment.

Sharing about her excellent test score of 10 in the recent high school graduation exam, Quynh Anh said: "My initial goal was only to get 9 - 9.5 points. However, I was very surprised when I got 10 points and even happier when the whole country only had 2 10 points."

I spent the entire 120 minutes to complete my test as completely as possible. This test was nearly 12 pages long, equivalent to 3 test papers. To achieve a high score, I divided my time reasonably for each part. At the same time, I kept a calm mind and carefully checked the parts I had done before submitting the test to the supervisor to avoid possible mistakes.

This year's exam was very good, especially the social discussion section that required candidates to talk about the meaning of respecting individuality. This topic is related to the reality of today's youth. I combined self-study and studying in class under the guidance of teachers. Learning literature is not just memorization, instead, you need to have inspiration, passion and enthusiasm for this subject. From there, you can freely create and sublimate in your own writing. Breaking through your own limits is something that makes me very happy and joyful."

Quynh Anh's secret to studying is to spend a lot of time reviewing in class, studying at home and reading more books and reference materials.

In addition to a score of 10 in Literature, Quynh Anh also scored 7.8 in Math and 8.4 in English. The female student happily said: "I registered my first choice for the Business English major at the Foreign Trade University. I passed the early admission process, the sufficient condition is that the combination of Math, Literature and English is greater than or equal to 24 points. With this score, I can be sure of being admitted to my first choice at my dream university."

The homeroom teacher's secret

Talking to Dan Viet newspaper reporter, Ms. Nguyen Thi Nhung, a Literature teacher and also Quynh Anh's homeroom teacher at My Tho High School, Y Yen, Nam Dinh, expressed: "I have taught Quynh Anh for 3 years, so I understand very well and really love and admire her will, self-study spirit and determination. In terms of academic ability, she is good at everything, studying all subjects equally. Although she is in the Literature team, she has high scores in all subjects, always holding the top 1 position in the class".

According to Ms. Nhung, her most memorable memory with Quynh Anh was near the day of the recent provincial excellent student exam. There were only 5 days left until the exam but Quynh Anh suddenly had to have an appendectomy. However, she did not give up and asked her teacher to continue studying online. On the day of the exam, Quynh Anh asked to be discharged from the hospital to go to school to take the exam and then returned for further treatment. If it were not for her health, Ms. Nhung believes that her exam would not have stopped at second prize.

In addition to being a good student, Quynh Anh is also an active deputy secretary of the school's youth union. Because she was born in October, unfortunately she is not old enough to join the Party. She is also a talented student, good at singing and dancing.

However, to achieve this high result, in addition to the students' abilities, there is also the great effort of the homeroom teacher. Ms. Nhung proudly announced the shocking good news: Not only Quynh Anh got 10 points in Literature, but her class of 42 students had 39 students scoring above 9 points, 10 students scoring above 9.75 points and only 3 students scoring 8.5 and 8.75 points.

Revealing the secret, Ms. Nhung said: "When I started welcoming 10th grade students, I searched for potential students to train them for the team.

In class, I inspire students with a passion for Literature. The characteristic of Literature is that you have to like it before you can learn and love it. I always inspire that passion in them.

The second thing is to classify students to have their own teaching strategy. During the teaching process, I have to find out each student's strengths and weaknesses and then develop appropriate skills and knowledge for them.

Furthermore, Literature now requires updating knowledge from real life. Therefore, in addition to providing knowledge, students must be guided to apply it to their work. This is the way for students to get high scores."

It is known that Ms. Nhung graduated in 2001 and returned to My Tho High School to teach Literature until now. In 23 years of teaching, she has achieved many years of being an excellent teacher and a key teacher of the school.
