Sharing difficulties with people in the Central and Central Highlands regions after floods

On November 26, Vinh Long Provincial Party Committee organized a fundraising event to support people in the Central and Central Highlands regions to overcome damage caused by floods.

Speaking at the fundraising event, Vice President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Vinh Long province Nguyen Thi Tuan Thanh said that people in the Central and Central Highlands provinces have had to struggle to cope with exceptionally heavy floods, causing heavy damage to people and property, especially in the provinces and cities of Dak Lak, Lam Dong, Khanh Hoa, Gia Lai, and Da Nang . More than ever, people in the Central and Central Highlands are in dire need of the loving arms, sharing, and encouragement of people across the country in general, and Vinh Long province in particular.

The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Vinh Long province has issued an Open Letter calling on agencies, businesses, organizations, individuals and people in the province to join hands to share and support the people of the Central and Central Highlands regions to overcome the damage caused by floods, helping people have more resources to overcome the consequences, soon stabilize their lives, rebuild production and return to normal life. "Every heart - sharing, no matter how small - is extremely precious. Every contribution - no matter how small - contributes to helping people have more confidence, motivation and conditions to stand up after the storm and flood". Contributions of organizations and individuals will be used for the right purpose, promptly and effectively, and will be made public on the website of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Vinh Long province.

On the same afternoon, in An Hoi ward, the Women's Union of Vinh Long province coordinated with the Provincial Women Entrepreneurs Association to transport goods to support people in the Central and Central Highlands regions affected by floods.

Chairwoman of the Women's Union of Vinh Long province Nguyen Thi Kim Thoa said that in response to the call of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Vinh Long province to support people in the Central and Central Highlands regions to overcome the damage caused by floods, the Women's Union of the province has launched a campaign to call for contributions and support from agencies, units, businesses, cadres, women's members, organizations and individuals inside and outside the province.

After the launch, the Provincial Women's Union received more than 16 tons of essential goods including: rice, instant noodles, cakes, milk, mineral water, mosquito nets, and other essential items with a total value of more than 750 million VND. These goods were classified, carefully packaged and transported to Tuy An Tay commune, Dak Lak province (formerly Phu Yen province) to support people who suffered heavy losses. In addition, units and businesses also supported 1.1 billion VND in cash.

The Women's Union of Vinh Long province will continue to mobilize to organize more support campaigns, joining hands with the whole country to support people in flood-affected areas.
