Sharing experiences in supporting commune health stations

On the morning of July 28, at the Royal Plaza Center, the Management Board of the Investment Program for Developing the Primary Health Care Network in Difficult Areas coordinated with the Department of Health to organize a Workshop to share experiences in supporting commune health stations operating according to the principles of family medicine.

Attending the workshop were Associate Professor, Dr. Phan Le Thu Hang, Director of the Program "Investment in developing the grassroots health network in disadvantaged areas"; leaders of health departments of provinces and cities benefiting from the program, including: Can Tho, Lam Dong, Dong Nai, Gia Lai, Da Nang City, Phu Tho, Tuyen Quang and leaders of the Department of Health of Dong Nai province, whose commune health station won first prize in the "Excellent grassroots health 2024" contest.

The program "Investment in developing the grassroots health network in disadvantaged areas" is implemented from 2019 to 2025 with ADB (Asian Development Bank) capital with important core interventions such as: Investing in upgrading facilities, providing essential medical equipment, training to improve the quality of medical human resources, supporting the innovation of health service delivery models and financial mechanisms for grassroots health... in 16 provinces facing many difficulties with the goal of investing in construction, renovation and upgrading of infrastructure, providing equipment for commune health stations so that commune health stations have enough quantity and quality of human resources operating according to the principles of family medicine.

At the same time, strengthen the operational capacity of commune health stations to comprehensively perform primary health care tasks, helping to reduce the burden on upper-level hospitals; innovate financial, human resources and management mechanisms.

At the workshop, delegates listened to many reports and discussions on the results of the program's support in the locality; the results of the consulting unit's support; the successes and challenges in the process of implementing the model of health stations operating according to the principles of family medicine; lessons learned in implementing the model; experience in management and primary health care of commune and ward health stations...
