Thai Hoa Palace was built by King Gia Long in 1805 in the Dai Cung Mon area. In 1833, King Minh Mang rebuilt the building in its current location.
Due to the impact of time and harsh climate, despite many renovations and restorations, the palace has seriously degraded. The People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue province approved a project to preserve and restore the Thai Hoa Palace relic with a total investment of more than 128 billion VND.
The project to preserve and restore the Thai Hoa Palace relic was implemented from November 2021 and is expected to be completed in August 2025.
However, with the efforts of the project implementation units, after nearly 3 years of restoration, Thai Hoa Palace is now completed.
On November 23, the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue province and the Hue Monuments Conservation Center will organize a ceremony to receive the UNESCO Certificate of Documentary Heritage "The reliefs on nine bronze cauldrons in the Hue Royal Palace" - Nine Cauldrons and announce the completion of the project "Conservation and overall restoration of Thai Hoa Palace", and open Thai Hoa Palace for visitors.
