On the afternoon of May 13, speaking with Dan Tri reporter, Ms. Dinh Thi Kim Phan - a teacher who has been with the literacy class at Ho Chi Minh City Oncology Hospital for 16 years - said that the class had just lost a student who had been with the class for 8 years.
That is the boy, 13 years old, residing in Lam Dong province, who has just passed away after many years of fighting cancer. The boy is a case that left Ms. Phan with special memories.

8 years ago, when he was only 5 years old, H. was brought by his family to Ms. Phan at a literacy class for children with cancer to apply for admission. That was when he first discovered he had leukemia. The illness often forced H. to drop out of school, so he is now only in 4th grade.
During the long days of treatment, H. stuck to the literacy class like at home.
"She remembers H. because he was both mischievous and well-behaved. During the pandemic, the class had to close, but only H. begged her to send him lessons via text message to study. At those times, even though it was evening and she was already lying down, she felt sorry for his studious spirit, so she had to get up to prepare lessons...
Now you are 13 years old. You have left this world to return to eternity. I am sure you will be at peace in heaven, my child!", Ms. Phan emotionally shared her emotional farewell to her little warrior.

According to Ms. Phan, since the beginning of the year, several students in the literacy class at the Ho Chi Minh City Oncology Hospital have passed away due to serious illness.
The special class, established in 2009, currently has about 30 members, children aged 5-15, who are being treated for diseases such as leukemia, bone cancer... Most of the children are patients from the province coming to Ho Chi Minh City.
Ms. Phan advised parents that although they know the path to cancer treatment is very difficult, parents should have faith and try to accompany their children, let them go to school - no matter the circumstances - so that children can live a full and happy childhood.
