Potential of Vietnam market
- Madam, how do you evaluate the development potential of AI for the business operations of enterprises today? In the Vietnamese market, are companies ready to use Microsoft tools? What achievements has Microsoft helped Vietnamese companies achieve when applying this technology?
According to a survey by Microsoft with IDC based on more than 2,100 business organizations with a total of more than 13 million employees in 16 countries worldwide, up to 71% of organizations are using AI, and about 22% of organizations are not currently using AI but plan to deploy it in the next 12 months.
Statistics show that for every $1 invested in AI, organizations are earning an average profit of $3.5. Even 5% of organizations in the world earn an average profit of $8. I believe that the above indicators will improve much more when businesses seriously research and learn to apply AI. This is also an opportunity for businesses to look back at themselves, reorient their business goals as well as the human factor before applying AI.
In Vietnam, businesses are also actively researching and investing in AI to improve their business performance. Examples include VNA Safety AI - a virtual assistant successfully deployed by Vietnam Airlines for employees to look up and ask questions about regulations and standards related to aviation safety; or VinBrain has put into use the virtual assistant DrAid™ in more than 100 hospitals in Vietnam, supporting nearly 2,000 doctors nationwide in general screening, cancer diagnosis and treatment, screening for diseases of the century and hospital management.
- Microsoft's approach is to provide a friendly, easy experience for users. In terms of AI development strategy, is Microsoft different from other competitors, madam?
Microsoft has always put people at the center of its solutions and technology. The company's consistent message is to solve people's problems, help them work more effectively and achieve better results.
Therefore, AI is being embedded and integrated across all Microsoft products, including many different areas such as Copilot in Microsoft Office, AI in Bing Search, GitHub for programming; AI in LinkedIn helps users search for jobs, business information... Our goal is to use technology to help people work faster and more effectively.
Towards “Making AI Common Sense to the Community”
- Vietnam has many traditional and manual manufacturing businesses. In your opinion, are these industries suitable for applying AI technology to work?
In Vietnam, handicrafts can be considered a typical industry and the pride of the national economy . Craft businesses can fully exploit the benefits that AI brings.
For example, traditional ceramics manufacturer Minh Long is also exploring how to apply AI in production and business. This unit has researched to produce effective ceramic formulas, creating the success and reputation of the brand. However, AI can help them optimize production processes, develop initiatives, synthesize and analyze design patterns, train and provide information to new employees and craftsmen, etc.
- It is known that education is one of the areas that Microsoft is very interested in. So can you tell us how AI is applied in the field of education? Can schools build their own AI, Copilot to serve teaching and learning?
Education is one of the key areas where Microsoft invests heavily in training and people. We have a creative teacher community with more than 140,000 members. Here, members regularly update and share experiences on how to effectively apply technology in teaching and learning.
One of the most discussed topics in the community is AI, how to build and apply AI in teaching and learning. In addition, we also deploy many training courses on using technology in teaching, and education-related activities for members to participate.
- What is Microsoft's roadmap for expanding Copilot to Vietnamese users? In the future, will users be able to build their own Copilot or use Copilot for free forever?
Currently, all personal or business users, including Microsoft employees, using Bing Search or Chat are limited. Depending on the specific requirements of users and businesses, Microsoft will embed more AI fields in it, and that is the basis for calculating the fee. The fact that users can easily use Copilot via Bing Search or Chat at no cost is Microsoft's way of popularizing AI to the community.
Now, Microsoft has also expanded Copilot to individuals and businesses of all sizes, especially small businesses. With just a Microsoft 365 Business Premium or Standard account, users can start using Copilot for $30/person/month.
Microsoft has also removed the 300-account minimum purchase requirement for commercial plans to make Copilot more widely available, helping people work more efficiently at a more affordable cost.
