On the training ground, officers and soldiers of Battalion 2 were busy completing preparations. At exactly 7 o'clock, the command was resolutely given: "Fire!". Immediately after the command, at each firing position, the soldiers who were exposed to live ammunition for the first time maintained a calm demeanor , precise posture, and skillful movements, a testament to the serious and methodical training over the past three months.

According to Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Cong Truong, Battalion Commander of Battalion 2, AK submachine gun shooting lesson 1 is one of the difficult contents, which is decisive for the quality of training new soldiers. Clearly identifying that, the Party Committee and Battalion Commander proactively built a practical plan, assigned clear tasks, organized training according to the motto "basic, practical, solid", and at the same time paid special attention to building a strong mentality for soldiers when facing explosions, pressure and accuracy in live ammunition practice.

To improve the quality of training, the Party Committee and the command of Regiment 125 have directed Battalion 2 to divide the training time and subjects, organize training in groups and teams; deploy models of "dividing into many times", "not enough formal training, take advantage of extra-curricular training"; combine formal training with supplementary training such as chin-ups, weight training, trigger training, and aiming training. The framework staff directly monitors and checks each soldier, adjusts posture, and guides movements down to the smallest detail. "We regularly organize experience sharing right after each training session. All mistakes are pointed out and corrected on the spot. The staff must closely monitor each person, both as a training staff and as a brother to share, encourage, and motivate new soldiers to study and practice", said Major Hoang Dinh Xuan, Company Commander of Company 1.

Shooting live ammunition is a big challenge for soldiers who hold a gun for the first time. Feeling nervous and anxious is inevitable. However, above all is the spirit of continuous training. New soldier Tran Hoai Long, in Squad 9, Platoon 3, Company 1 shared: “When I stepped onto the firing platform, my heart was beating very fast. But I remembered the officer's instructions to take a deep breath, breathe evenly, keep a steady mind, and believe in the training process. I just kept performing the movements I had learned. When I heard the announcement that I had achieved excellent results, my emotions exploded.”

As for the new soldier Nguyen Van Linh, in Platoon 4, Company 1, who scored 80/90 points, he happily said: “I will write a letter to my parents to tell them the good news. This is a gift I give to my family after days of arduous training. My secret is to be faithful to the technique, do exactly what I was taught, keep my balance, aim firmly and pull the trigger evenly.”

Examples like Long and Linh are not rare in the Regiment. With the will and dedicated guidance of the officers, many soldiers who had encountered difficulties in the first practice sessions have risen to achieve excellent results in the live-fire test. Success in training comes not only from the curriculum or the training ground, but also from the listening and sharing between officers and soldiers. The Party Committee and Command of Regiment 125 pay special attention to the psychological factor - considering it the foundation for soldiers to best develop their abilities. Political activities, arts, sports, comrades' birthdays... are organized regularly to create a cohesive atmosphere and reduce pressure. Officers are always close, promptly grasp the thoughts and aspirations, and resolve problems to help soldiers feel secure. Before the live-fire test, the unit launched the emulation movement "Determination to win good shooting flowers", creating a vibrant competitive atmosphere that spread throughout the units. Healthy competition between squads and platoons has become the motivation for each soldier to strive their best.

The Commander of the Hai Duong Provincial Military Command presented flowers for good shooting to new soldiers with excellent achievements.

The results of the live ammunition test are a clear demonstration of the tireless efforts of the officers and soldiers of Regiment 125. Of the total number of new soldiers participating in the test, more than 85% met the requirements, of which more than 65% were good and excellent, ensuring absolute safety. It is not only an achievement, but also a remarkable growth in the bravery, skills and thinking of the new soldiers; from their first steps, they have gradually mastered their weapons and equipment, have a steady mentality, and are ready to enter the next stage of training.

Looking back on the past 3 months, Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Trung Hieu, Political Commissar of Battalion 2, affirmed: “We have complete confidence in the new generation of soldiers. They have demonstrated comprehensive maturity in terms of awareness, skills and will. From what has been achieved, we expect that they will continue to promote, overcome challenges and excellently complete all assigned tasks.”
