Next to the lush hybrid corn field, Mr. Luong Cao Tri (Hamlet 1, La Ngau Commune, Tanh Linh District) happily shared: Previously, his family, like many other families, had a nomadic, unstable life because there was no land for production. In the spirit of Resolution 04 of the Provincial Party Committee, his family, as well as the ethnic minorities in the commune, were granted land for production in accordance with regulations. “With land, my family planted hybrid corn. After many years of saving from production, my family bought cows to raise, then switched to growing other crops on the granted area. Thanks to the land, my family now has a stable life,” said Mr. Tri.

Many agricultural models bring high economic efficiency to people.

According to Ms. Tran Thi Thu Oanh, Vice Chairman of La Ngau Commune People's Committee: Over the past years, the spiritual life of the people in the commune has been constantly improved. In particular, since the Resolution 04 of Binh Thuan Provincial Party Committee on comprehensive development of the people's economic and social life in ethnic minority areas; along with the attention and direction of Tanh Linh district, the efforts of the local Party Committee and authorities have well implemented the program of comprehensive development of people's lives and economy according to the motto of focusing on mobilizing all resources, especially investing in developing local economic and social infrastructure. Accordingly, the locality has mobilized capital from many sources to invest in developing key projects for La Ngau commune, such as: investing in upgrading, asphalting, and concrete roads; building a system of schools, medical stations, cultural houses, electricity, irrigation systems, clean water systems, supporting housing construction, the national target program on new rural construction; Policies to support ethnic minorities in particular difficulties; policies to subsidize freight and prices of essential goods, loans for production development, forest protection contracts... have also been invested synchronously. Currently, key projects have been effective, contributing to production development and improving the lives of ethnic minorities in the whole commune.

The mountainous district of Tanh Linh has about 3,570 ethnic minority households with over 14,200 people, accounting for about 14% of the district's population. The whole district has 7 communes and towns with ethnic minorities including: La Ngau, Mang To, Duc Binh, Duc Thuan, Gia Huynh, Suoi Kiet and Lac Tanh town.

Tanh Linh District People's Committee said: In recent years, the district has focused on prioritizing capital sources to support production, create jobs, increase income, and invest in construction of works for ethnic minority areas. Thanks to that, it has had a direct impact on the lives and production of people, especially the poor. The district has organized vocational training for people such as planting, caring for and tapping rubber trees, growing mushrooms, industrial sewing, plant protection, etc. In addition, through the local socio-economic development project program, it has created stable jobs for thousands of workers. Poor households are also directly supported in production such as seeds, crops, livestock, fertilizers; trained and guided on production techniques; people's production knowledge has been significantly improved, helping people gradually change their farming and raising habits of livestock and poultry. Since then, the average annual yield has increased, with rice reaching 60 quintals/ha, an increase of 5 quintals/ha, corn reaching 75 quintals/ha, an increase of 7 quintals/ha; on average each household has 1.2 hectares of production land, stabilizing the area of forest protection and management contract at over 14,300 hectares/371 households. From land allocation for production, forest protection contract, support for loans to buy cows, advance investment, and guidance on farming techniques are "leverages" to improve income and raise the living standards of ethnic minorities in the whole district. With economic development, people pay more attention to taking care of their children'seducation ; preserving and promoting their ethnic cultural identity.

Mechanization in production has come to the people here.

In the period of 2012-2020, the whole district has reduced the poverty rate of ethnic minority households from 36.7% to 13.94% compared to 2012. It can be said that the implementation of policies and projects has brought a breath of fresh air to ethnic minority areas, helping people to overcome hunger, reduce poverty, and develop the economy; the thinking and farming practices of the people have also gradually changed. This is the premise and driving force for the appearance of ethnic minority and mountainous areas of Tanh Linh district to have many improvements, the material and spiritual life is increasingly improved, the great solidarity of the people is increasingly sustainable, contributing to the overall socio-economic development of the district.
