Official launch of the first Pottery Festival of Dong Nai province

(ĐN) - On the afternoon of April 27, the first Ceramic Festival held in Dong Nai officially opened at the Provincial Event and Foreign Affairs Center. This is a ceramic event within the series of events of the Dong Nai Ceramic Festival - Hot Air Balloon 2025.

Attending the opening ceremony were: Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Ho Thanh Son; Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Tan Duc; members of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee: Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Internal Affairs Committee Tran Trung Nhan, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Duong Minh Dung, Secretary of the Long Khanh City Party Committee Dang Minh Nguyet and ceramic enterprises inside and outside the province.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the Ceramic Festival, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Duong Minh Dung said that Bien Hoa ceramics were born more than 300 years ago, closely associated with the development of the Southern region. Through many changes, Bien Hoa ceramics still retain their own soul. Decorative ceramic products are unique, rich and diverse.

Bien Hoa pottery is delicately crafted, using light-fire glaze, elegant glaze color, in which the most characteristic feature and also the pride of Bien Hoa pottery is "flowering green copper glaze". In addition, Bien Hoa - Dong Nai pottery is also famous for its black clay pottery products with natural beauty, very popular in the market.

Not only contributing to the cultural and artistic aspects, the fine art ceramic industry also contributes to the economic development of the province, although still modest. In 2024, the production value of the fine art ceramic industry will reach over 1.3 trillion VND, accounting for 1.7% of the rural industrial production value of Dong Nai province. Dong Nai currently has about 440 workers working in ceramic establishments.

With the desire to preserve and develop the traditional pottery craft of Bien Hoa - Dong Nai, towards celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South, national reunification and welcoming the 14th National Party Congress, the 12th Dong Nai Provincial Party Congress, Dong Nai province organizes the Pottery - Hot Air Balloon Festival in 2025 with the participation of Binh Duong, Quang Nam, Vinh Long and Ninh Thuan provinces.

The 2025 Dong Nai Province Ceramics - Hot Air Balloon Festival is not only an opportunity to honor traditional values ​​and pay tribute to generations of artisans, but also a bridge for Bien Hoa ceramics to advance further on the world ceramic art map, connecting artistic creation, technological innovation and local tourism and economic development.
