The workshop aims to provide a comprehensive view of cultural exchange, research and communication for young people between the two countries. This is an activity under the Project to Build a Key University of Korean Studies in Vietnam sponsored by the Central Institute for Korean Studies (AKS).

According to the presentation of Dr. Nguyen Thi Phuong Mai - Head of Korean Studies Department, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City, the purpose of the Conference is to connect Korean studies training and research units, strengthen cooperation between training institutions in Vietnam as well as cooperation and scientific research exchange between the two countries of Korea and Vietnam.

The workshop was attended by many leading scientists and experts in Korean studies from prestigious universities and research institutes in Vietnam and Korea. In particular, the two keynote speeches by Prof. Kim Jaeuk (Hankuk University of Foreign Studies, Korea) and Prof. Dr. Phan Thi Thu Hien (University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Ho Chi Minh City National University) provided profound theoretical perspectives, serving as a basis for thematic discussions in the future cooperation process.

With main contents such as: Education and socio-cultural policies; Korean language teaching; Language and Literature; Cultural - social - historical research, the presentations focused on analyzing the development trends of education, cultural identity and Korean language in the context of globalization; at the same time, proposing solutions to promote cooperation in research and teaching of Korean studies between Vietnam and Korea.
With diverse and practical content, the Conference on the Situation of Education and Culture in Contemporary Korea not only enhances understanding of modern Korean culture and society, but also opens up opportunities to develop interdisciplinary projects and enhance academic exchanges between the two countries in the future.
