A restaurant owner in South Korea has surprised many people by lifting a table full of food on his head to serve customers. Local media said that this may be the reason why customers flock to the restaurant, partly out of curiosity.
Kang Jin-gyu, 55, runs a restaurant in Uidong Valley, a popular resort near Seoul. His unique table-handling skills have made his restaurant a tourist attraction.

Instead of serving each dish, Mr. Kang chose a quicker way: carrying the entire dining table on his head.
The long table, designed to serve 10 people, was filled with food and drinks, weighing a total of 36kg.
According to South Korean television channel SBS , Mr. Kang makes at least 150 such trips every day. He can even climb stairs easily while balancing a dining table on his head.

At first, Mr. Kang used his hands to carry the table, but then switched to carrying it on his head because his hands hurt. Sharing the secret to keeping his balance, the owner revealed that he did not place the table directly above his head, but slightly to one side to make it easier to balance. During the move, if he felt the table was off-center, he would immediately adjust it.
Many diners have tried to imitate it by carrying a much smaller and lighter table, but have failed.
"I'm so used to it, I've been well trained," Mr. Kang shared.

According to the owner, this method not only saves time but is also very convenient when it rains. Just cover the table with a plastic sheet to keep the food from getting wet and protect it from the rain like an umbrella.
According to research, the tradition of carrying heavy objects on the head was popular in Korea during the time when there was no water supply system. Korean women at that time often carried water jars weighing over 20kg and walked for kilometers. However, this habit has almost disappeared in modern society.
Mr. Kang's special skills have delighted the online community. Many people have also expressed admiration for the shop owner's ability to maintain balance.
