The announcement ceremony of Hanoi City was held in person and online from the Vietnam - Soviet Union Friendship Cultural Palace, connecting to 126 new communes and wards of Hanoi City. Attending the announcement ceremony were President Luong Cuong; Secretary of the City Party Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Hanoi City Bui Thi Minh Hoai.
At the ceremony, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Nguyen Van Phong announced the resolution of the National Assembly Standing Committee on the arrangement of administrative units at the commune and ward levels of Hanoi in 2025; the decision of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee on recognizing the title of the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hanoi; the decision of the City Party Committee Executive Committee on ending the activities of 30 district, town and city Party Committees under the Hanoi Party Committee.
At the same time, Comrade Nguyen Van Phong also announced the decisions of the Hanoi Party Committee Executive Committee on the establishment of Party Committees of 126 communes and wards in Hanoi. At the same time, Comrade Nguyen Van Phong also announced the decisions of the Hanoi Party Committee Standing Committee on: establishing the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hanoi; appointing the Executive Committee, Standing Committee, Secretary, Deputy Secretary, and Inspection Committee of the Party Committees of communes and wards; resolutions of the Hanoi People's Council Standing Committee on appointing the Chairman, Vice Chairman, and Head of the People's Council Committees of communes and wards; appointing the Chairman and Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of communes and wards; and the decision of the Hanoi Fatherland Front Committee on the establishment of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of communes and wards.
According to the announcement, in Resolution No. 1656/NQ-UBTVQH15 of the National Assembly Standing Committee on the arrangement of commune-level administrative units of Hanoi in 2025, after the arrangement, Hanoi has 126 commune-level administrative units, including: 51 wards and 75 communes; officially operating from July 1.
The Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hanoi City for the 2024-2029 term consists of 7 comrades, of which comrade Nguyen Lan Huong is the Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hanoi City.
Speaking at the ceremony, President Luong Cuong assessed that the resolutions and decisions of the Central Government and Hanoi City on the arrangement of administrative units at the commune and ward levels are a very special milestone for Hanoi City and the whole country. Officially starting from today, the whole country has 34 provinces and cities and 3,321 communes and wards. The President emphasized that starting from tomorrow, July 1, the local government apparatus of the whole country will be transformed from a 3-level local government that has been operating for nearly 80 years to a 2-level one. The policy of arranging the organization of the apparatus and administrative units is a major and especially important policy of our Party and State, with a long-term strategic nature, demonstrating great political determination in building a streamlined, efficient, effective, and effective administration that is close to the people.
