Early tomorrow morning October 19, cold air flows to the North

This cold air mass will strengthen on October 20 or 21, covering deep into the Central region.

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, a cold air mass is moving southward in the northern part of the Asian continent and will strengthen in the next few days. This is the first distinct cold air mass of the Fall-Winter season of 2025-2026, directly affecting the weather in the North and North Central regions.

From early morning on October 19, this cold air mass began to affect the Northeast region, causing the weather to turn cold to chilly. On October 20 and 21, the cold air will intensify, expanding its influence to the entire Northeast, North Central and some places in the Northwest and North Central regions.

Therefore, places that have been covered by cold air since October 19 will be even colder (highland areas may have slight chill).

Under the influence of cold air, many places in the North will have scattered showers and thunderstorms. Wind on land will change to Northeast level 2-3, coastal areas level 3-4.

The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting said that from the night of October 19, the weather in the North will become cooler, but from the night of October 20, the temperature will drop sharply, the night and morning will be cold, and some mountainous areas will be cold. The lowest temperature during this period is forecast to range from 19-21 degrees Celsius in the plains, 17-19 degrees Celsius in the midlands and below 16 degrees Celsius in the highlands.

Hanoi area will have scattered showers and thunderstorms in some places. From the night of October 19, the weather will turn cool and from the night of October 20, the night and morning will be cold, the lowest temperature is commonly 19-21 degrees Celsius.

The meteorological agency also warned that from the evening and night of October 19, the North Central and Central Central regions will have rain, moderate rain and thunderstorms. In particular, the South Central region will have heavy rain in some places due to the cold air.

According to the meteorological agency's forecast, this cold spell will last for about 4-5 days, from October 19 to 23 or 24, then gradually decrease. This is the cold spell that opens the cold season of 2025-2026 in our country.
