Over 300 teams competed in the 2025 Cybersecurity Student Competition.

On October 18th, in Hanoi, the 2025 Cybersecurity Student Competition officially opened. The event was chaired by the National Cybersecurity Association (NCA), in coordination with the Cybersecurity and High-Tech Crime Prevention Department (Ministry of Public Security) and the Ministry of Education and Training.

This year's competition attracted over 300 teams with more than 1,250 participants from 9 countries, including students from 34 universities and colleges in Vietnam.

In his opening remarks, Lieutenant Colonel Trieu Manh Tung, Deputy Director of the Cyber ​​Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention Department, emphasized that Vietnam is one of the countries with the fastest digital transformation rate in the world . Cybersecurity is a solid bulwark protecting the digital transformation process. The competition helps students better understand career opportunities, as well as the importance of investing in and developing skills in this field.

According to Dr. To Hong Nam, Deputy Director of the Department of Science , Technology and Information (Ministry of Education and Training), the competition is not only an academic playground for domestic students but also expands international connections, creating opportunities for exchange and professional learning between countries. Vietnam needs high-quality human resources in the field of cybersecurity, and this competition plays an important role in achieving that goal.

Immediately after the opening ceremony, the competitive atmosphere heated up as the teams entered the online preliminary round, showcasing innovative strategies and solutions for handling cybersecurity scenarios.

At the testing sites, the atmosphere was serious and focused, yet full of youthful energy and a desire to conquer. Contestants quickly settled into their positions, checked their equipment, and began tackling the first challenges with high determination.

The competition is expected to become a regional forum, contributing to promoting cooperation, developing cybersecurity human resources, and spreading awareness of personal data protection in the digital age.

This year's competition, themed "Data Security and Personal Data Protection," consists of two rounds: the preliminary round (October 18) held online and the final round (November 15) held in person. The judging panel comprises leading experts to ensure the practicality and depth of the competition content.
