(Dan Tri) - On the morning of September 5, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue attended the opening ceremony and beat the drum to start the 2023-2024 school year at T78 Friendship School (Phuc Tho, Hanoi ).

On the occasion of the opening ceremony, the National Assembly Chairman sent his best wishes to all teachers, students and those working in the education sector.

He emphasized that the 2023-2024 school year marks 10 years of implementing Resolution 29-NQ/TW on fundamental and comprehensive innovation in education and training and Resolution 88/2014/QH13 and Resolution 51/2017/QH14 of the National Assembly on innovation of general education programs and textbooks.

Accordingly, it is necessary to thoroughly understand the Party and State's policies and guidelines on education and training.

He also suggested that relevant ministries, branches, agencies, Hanoi city, and Phuc Tho district continue to pay attention to investing in facilities and teaching aids for teachers and students of T78 Friendship School.

T78 Friendship School (formerly the Central Mountainous Campus) was established by the Central Party Secretariat on January 1, 1958.

The school has changed its name 4 times and its location 9 times through 7 districts, 6 provinces and cities. In 1980, the school moved to Tho Loc commune, Phuc Tho district, Hanoi city.

This is a public service unit under the Ministry of Education and Training. The school's mission is to teach Vietnamese preparatory language to Laotian students and provide high school education for Vietnamese ethnic minority students and Laotian students following the model of a boarding school for ethnic minorities with foreign elements.

In 65 years of construction and development, the school has trained over 27,000 international students for Laos.

Many international students have held important positions in the leadership apparatus of the Lao Party and State from the central to local levels.

The National Assembly Chairman hopes that generations of students of T78 Friendship School will continue to follow the example of previous generations, strive in studying and training, become good citizens, both red and professional, contributing to further fostering the unique friendship between Vietnam and Laos.
