On the afternoon of August 8, at the Ho Chi Minh City Police Department, the launching ceremony, the launch, the introduction of the logo and competition uniform of the Ho Chi Minh City Police Club for the 2025 - 2026 season took place. Here, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Van Duoc expressed: "Today is a special day, not only for me but also for the majority of sports fans in general and Ho Chi Minh City football fans in particular. I am very proud and moved by the return of a once-famous name, formed in 1979, which is the Ho Chi Minh City Police Club".

According to the Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, the return of the Ho Chi Minh City Police Club on the map of Vietnamese football marks a very important turning point and is the result of the high consensus and unity between the leaders of the Ministry of Public Security and the leaders of Ho Chi Minh City, the close coordination between functional agencies such as the Police Sports Association, the Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City, the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) and the enthusiastic support of football fans across the country in general and the people of Ho Chi Minh City in particular.

Currently, after merging 3 localities (Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong and Ba Ria - Vung Tau ), Ho Chi Minh City football has 6 representatives participating in the professional system of Vietnam in the 2025 - 2026 season, including 2 teams playing in the V-League and 4 teams playing in the first division. In which, V-League has Becamex Ho Chi Minh City Club, Ho Chi Minh City Police Club. In the national first division, there are Van Hien University team, Ho Chi Minh City youth team, Gia Dinh Club, Ho Chi Minh City Club (renamed from Ba Ria - Vung Tau Club).

In particular, in the police force, sports are not only physical training but also spiritual values ​​and a vivid expression of courage, discipline, team spirit, and the will to overcome difficulties, just like Uncle Ho's advice: be strong to protect the Fatherland, to build the country and to serve the people better.
