Vietnam and the United States entered a new round of technical negotiations in Washington, DC, following the results at the Ministerial level, towards a fair and balanced reciprocal Trade Agreement.

From November 12-14, 2025, in Washington, DC, under the direction of Minister Nguyen Hong Dien, Head of the Government Negotiation Delegation and Chief US Trade Representative Jamieson Greer, the technical round of negotiations on the Fair and Balanced Reciprocal Trade Agreement between Vietnam and the United States continued to be implemented as planned, striving towards positive results.

After the Ministerial-level negotiation session between Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien - Head of the Government Negotiation Delegation and Chief of the US Trade Representative Jamieson Greer - Head of the US Negotiation Delegation, which took place on the afternoon of November 10, on the morning of November 12, 2025, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade, Deputy Head of the Government Negotiation Delegation Nguyen Sinh Nhat Tan had a working session with Deputy US Trade Representative Rick Switzer at the headquarters of the Office of the US Trade Representative (USTR) to kick off the technical negotiation sessions.
