The Vietnamese stock market had a prosperous first half of the year when the VN-Index increased by more than 100 points, reaching 1,377.84 points, the highest level in the past 3 years.

According to the latest update of Forbes, as of the afternoon of July 1, Vietnam currently has 5 USD billionaires including Mr. Pham Nhat Vuong - Chairman of Vingroup, Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao - Chairwoman of Vietjet, Mr. Ho Hung Anh - Chairman of Techcombank, Mr. Tran Dinh Long - Chairman of Hoa Phat and Mr. Nguyen Dang Quang - Chairman of Masan .

The assets of all five billionaires fluctuated strongly according to stock prices. Of these, Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao had the strongest increase, adding 66 million USD, bringing her total assets to 2.6 billion USD. Mr. Pham Nhat Vuong's assets also increased by 8 million USD, reaching 10.5 billion USD and ranking 274th on the list.

"Steel King" Tran Dinh Long lost 21 million USD, leaving his assets at 2.3 billion USD. Mr. Nguyen Dang Quang lost 22 million USD, leaving his assets at 1.1 billion USD. Previously, at the end of March, Forbes removed Mr. Quang from the list after his assets fell below the 1 billion USD mark.

Notably, billionaire Pham Nhat Vuong's assets recorded a significant increase, in the context of a series of stocks belonging to the Vingroup ecosystem simultaneously increasing sharply.

Specifically, VIC (Vingroup) shares maintained a good growth momentum, reaching VND95,600/unit in the trading session on July 1. "Newcomer" VPL (Vinpearl), although just listed, has increased sharply compared to the opening session, currently trading at VND94,600/unit.

VHM (Vinhomes) shares also broke out to a peak price in nearly 3 years, reaching 76,300 VND/unit. Meanwhile, VRE (Vincom Retail) set a one-year high of 24,800 VND/unit.

To be included in the list, the method chosen by Forbes is to evaluate the size of an individual's assets based on stock prices and daily exchange rates.
