The program was attended by 50 journalists and reporters from the provinces of Cao Bang, Tuyen Quang, Thai Nguyen, and Hanoi .
During the 3 days, delegates shared information on the following topics: Biodiversity, the global picture and Vietnam's issues; preserving the "treasure" in Na Hang: Challenges and expectations; community-based conservation of the White-cheeked Douc Langur in Lam Binh: Efforts are rewarded; Delacour's Langur - a threatened global "treasure". At the same time, they spent time exchanging and discussing the topic of minimizing the impact on biodiversity from development activities in Vietnam through a journalistic perspective; environmental journalism storytelling skills; exchanging methods of data mining and multi-platform journalism applications...
This is an opportunity for journalists to approach conservation practices in Na Hang - Lam Binh Nature Reserve, home to many rare endemic species such as Tonkin snub-nosed monkeys and white-cheeked black langurs. According to statistics, in Tat Ke area there are 120 - 150 individuals, in Ban Bung area there are about 50 - 60 individuals.
Through the program, journalists and reporters have the opportunity to learn and explore in depth the topic of biodiversity, contributing to spreading the value of journalism in environmental protection and biodiversity conservation in Vietnam. At the same time, improving communication effectiveness, contributing a strong voice to the conservation of biodiversity, especially endemic, endangered, precious and rare species.
