A process of resolving 'bottlenecks'
Vietnam - Asia DX Summit is an annual regional event organized by VINASA, under the auspices of the Ministry of Science and Technology .
The event was attended by leaders of the Government, ministries, departments, and brought together international organizations and leading businesses to discuss strategies for digital economic development.
Sharing at the forum, Mr. Tran Ba Khoi Nguyen - Deputy General Director in charge of finance of Zalopay - said that instead of approaching digital transformation as a trend, businesses should consider this as a process of solving specific 'bottlenecks' in operations - sales - administration. From there, businesses can determine which technology can solve the problem.
In addition, Mr. Nguyen also emphasized: 'Digital transformation cannot be successful without any of the following elements: Safety - Speed - Convenience'. A technological solution cannot be sustainable if it does not help users find it easy to use, save costs and time, and ensure the highest level of safety.
To illustrate this approach, Mr. Nguyen gave an example of the shortcomings in COD collection activities in the logistics industry. Despite choosing COD (Cash on Delivery), many customers still pay by transferring money via the postman's personal QR code - instead of paying in cash.
This method makes it difficult for businesses to control cash flow, requiring manual reconciliation via receipts or screenshots, which is prone to errors and time-consuming, especially when network problems or banking system errors occur.
Postmen also cannot immediately confirm whether a transaction is complete or not, which can easily lead to disputes with customers. Buyers face more risks: from being tricked into transferring money by a scammer posing as a postman, to the fear of having their personal information exposed by having to manually enter the account number and amount.
From that practical problem, the company has developed Zalopay POD - a cashless collection support solution exclusively for transportation and delivery partners, which has been deployed with Ahamove, Lazada Express (LEX), BEST Express...

By directly integrating the Multi-function QR payment code into the delivery application used by the postman, Zalopay POD helps buyers simply scan the QR code that already has the amount and order information, and can pay using any banking application or e-wallet.
More importantly, the money is transferred directly to the business account, instead of the postman's personal account.
This method helps identify each order and transaction quickly, accurately, and securely. The delivery person will receive instant money transfer notification, and the business can automatically and transparently reconcile in real time.
The solution helps save time for customers, is easy to use for postmen and buyers, and especially improves safety and security for users.
"Getting acquainted with the results of digital transformation like this helps users gradually get used to the role of technology in life, and also helps the digital transformation process take place more sustainably," said Mr. Nguyen.
Continued investment in digital infrastructure and solutions
Participating in this year's forum, with the philosophy of choosing digital transformation to solve problems that the market faces rather than following trends, Zalopay not only positions its role in the fintech industry, but also contributes to setting the evaluation standard for digital payments in Vietnam - where speed, convenience and safety are put on the same scale.
And Zalopay POD is a typical example of this philosophy when it has solved the problem in the logistics industry: for users, the experience needs to be fast and convenient; for businesses, it needs to ensure control and transparency in operations.
Looking to the future, the company said it will continue to invest heavily in digital infrastructure and optimal payment solutions, aiming to build a sustainable digital financial platform for both businesses and consumers in the digital age.
