Can Tho Swimming Club won 22 medals at the 2023 City-level Phu Dong Sports Festival

The 2023 City-level Phu Dong Sports Festival will take place from June 19-21, 2023 at Anh Vien swimming pool with more than 400 athletes participating from districts across the city. The delegation of 12 athletes from Can Tho Swimming Club includes 10 athletes from Ninh Kieu district and 3 athletes from Cai Rang district.

The delegation of 12 athletes from Can Tho Swimming Club participating in the 2023 City-level Phu Dong Sports Festival in Swimming under the guidance of coach Le Hoai Duc has excellently won 22 medals, including 10 gold medals, 7 silver medals and 5 bronze medals. The purpose of the city-level Phu Dong Sports Festival is to discover and nurture sports talents for the city to prepare to participate in the 10th National Phu Dong Sports Festival in 2024.

The specific achievements of the 7 primary school students are as follows: Le Ngan Ha, a 2nd grader at Le Quy Don Primary School, won a gold medal in the 50m freestyle for girls under 9 years old and a gold medal in the 4x50m freestyle for girls primary school. Chu Phuong Tam, a 2nd grader at Le Quy Don Primary School, won a bronze medal in the 50m freestyle for girls under 9 years old. Dinh Nguyen Bao, a 2nd grader at Ngo Quyen Primary School, won a bronze medal in the 50m freestyle for boys under 9 years old. Pham Nguyen, a 4th grader at Le Quy Don Primary School, won 2 silver medals in the 50m backstroke for boys under 10 years old and 4x50m freestyle for boys primary school. Nguyen Kim Cat Tuong, a 4th grader at Hung Phu 2 Primary School, Cai Rang District, won 2 gold medals in the 50m breaststroke and 50m freestyle for girls under 10 years old. Huynh Viet Hai, a 5th grader at Hung Phu 2 Primary School in Cai Rang District, won 2 bronze medals in the 50m breaststroke and 50m backstroke for 11-year-old boys. Nguyen Ho Kha Han, a 5th grader at Mac Dinh Chi Primary School, won 2 individual gold medals in the 50m and 100m freestyle for 11-year-old girls.

The specific achievements of the 5 junior high school students are as follows: Hua Bao Nghi, a 6th grader at Chu Van An Secondary School, won 3 gold medals in the 50m freestyle and 50m backstroke for girls aged 12-13 and the 4x50m freestyle for girls aged 12-13. Nguyen Tam Thanh, a 6th grader at Chu Van An Secondary School, won a gold medal in the 4x50m freestyle for girls aged 12-13, a silver medal in the 50m backstroke, and a bronze medal in the 100m freestyle for girls aged 12-13. Lam Huynh Bao Vy, a 6th grader at Luong The Vinh Secondary School, won a gold medal in the 4x50m freestyle for girls aged 12-13, and 2 silver medals in the 50m breaststroke and 50m freestyle for girls aged 12-13. Hua Kien Quang, a 7th grader at Chu Van An Secondary School, won a gold medal in the 50m freestyle, a silver medal in the 50m breaststroke for 12-13 year old boys and a silver medal in the 4x50m freestyle for middle school boys. Le Hoang Lam, a 7th grader at Doan Thi Diem Secondary School, won a silver medal in the 4x50m for middle school boys.

With the outstanding achievements just achieved, the athletes will compete at the 10th National Phu Dong Sports Festival in 2024 with the qualifying round according to region 5 in Ben Tre province and the final round in Nam Dinh city. Wishing the athletes to always maintain their passion and achieve the best results in the upcoming major tournaments, contributing to bringing the student swimming movement of Can Tho city to reach further and compete with major units in the country.
