On the evening of November 9, Hai Phong Club welcomed Da Nang at Lach Tray Stadium in round 11 of V-League 2025 - 2026. Being at the bottom of the rankings, Da Nang was determined to win the match and actively pressured Hai Phong from the first minutes of the match.

This was a big mistake for Da Nang as Hai Phong is a team that is very good at counter-attacking against teams with open spaces.

In the 15th minute, Bui Tien Dung took advantage of a chaotic corner kick to gently chip the ball into Da Nang's net, opening the score 1-0 for Hai Phong.

In the final minutes of the match, Hai Phong played somewhat carelessly and let Da Nang take advantage of the opportunity to score an honorary goal.

In the 89th minute, from a high ball, Milan Makaric headed the ball into the far corner of goalkeeper Nguyen Dinh Trieu's goal, reducing the score to 1-3. This was the final score of the match.

Winning 3 points against Da Nang, Hai Phong Club under the leadership of coach Chu Dinh Nghiem returned to third place in the V-League 2025 - 2026 rankings. Previously, the port city team climbed to this position in round 9 but dropped to 4th place in round 10.

However, the port city team showed an impressive attack with 22 goals scored after 11 rounds (average 2 goals/match) and demonstrated the potential to compete for the championship despite the team not having any stars.

For Da Nang, this defeat caused them to fall to the bottom of the rankings with 7 points after 11 matches.

In an interview after the match, Hai Phong midfielder Bui Tien Dung said: "I am very happy with the goal I scored for Hai Phong.

Scoring against my old team is an indescribable feeling because Da Nang was a stepping stone for me to become a professional. They created many opportunities for me to play in my first years in V-League."

He continued: "With my current good form, I hope to wear the Vietnamese national team jersey."
