Son Heung-min closes future

Son Heung-min has dismissed rumours that he could make a short-term move to Serie A or Europe in the near future.

"Sonny" is fully focused on taking LAFC far in MLS this season.

Rumors have been swirling for weeks that Son Heung-min could return to Europe on a short-term loan in January, but the LAFC star has firmly denied that.

“None of the rumors are true. I have not spoken to any team about where to go this winter,” Son told Chosun while training with the national team.

The former Tottenham captain is rumoured to have a special clause in his contract with Los Angeles FC that would allow him to temporarily return to Europe to play during the MLS off-season. Son Heung-min wants to maintain his form before the 2026 World Cup.

Previously, Barcelona and AC Milan emerged as two potential destinations. These clubs considered borrowing Son Heung-min from Los Angeles FC for a short time. However, Son Heung-min confirmed that there were no official negotiations and he will spend the winter resting and recovering, preparing for the 2026 World Cup.

The Korean star is becoming a phenomenon in MLS, despite having just joined LAFC recently. In the two MLS playoff matches against Austin FC, Son scored 1 goal and assisted 1, and was voted the best player of the match in the second leg.

His brilliance helped LAFC advance to the next round of their MLS title bid. Since joining the league, Son has quickly adapted and become the centerpiece of LAFC's attacking play.

Up to now, the former Tottenham captain has scored 10 goals and 3 assists after only 12 appearances, an amazing performance.
