In the document, Hoa Binh Club said that there were some force majeure factors affecting the team's plans, therefore, Hoa Binh Club officially withdrew from participating in the 2025/26 season.
With the withdrawal of Hoa Binh Club, there will be only 12 teams participating in the National First Division Football Tournament in the 2025/26 season, including: Bac Ninh Club, Van Hien University Club, Dong Thap Club, Gia Dinh Club, Khatoco Khanh Hoa Club, Long An Club, Ho Chi Minh City Club, Ho Chi Minh City Youth Club (expected to be renamed Thanh Nien City Ho Chi Minh), PVF-CAND Youth Club, Truong Tuoi Dong Nai Club, Quang Ninh Club and Quy Nhon United Club.
The Organizing Committee of Vietnam Professional Football Tournaments plans to re-organize the draw ceremony for the National First Division Football Tournament 2025/26 season on the morning of September 11, 2025. The National Cup 2025/26 season will not be re-drawn. According to the published schedule, Khanh Hoa Club will meet Hoa Binh Club in the National Cup qualifying round. Khatoco Khanh Hoa Club will go straight to the round of 16 of the National Cup 2025/26.
This option is similar to the 2023 season when Saigon FC withdrew from participating before the tournament started, the tournament's Organizing Committee also applied not to redraw the National Cup. Thus, the 2025/26 National Cup will still have the participation of 25 teams with 24 matches.
According to the plan, the National First Division Football Tournament season 2025/26 will start from September 19, 2025 and will end on June 20, 2026. The National Cup Football Tournament season 2025/26 will start the qualifying matches from September 12, 2025 and the final match will take place on June 28, 2026.
