Soc Trang has press agencies, namely Soc Trang Newspaper and Radio and Television Station; 2 representative offices of press agencies, namely Vietnam News Agency Resident Office and Nhan Dan Newspaper Representative Office; 18 reporters registered to operate permanently and more than 40 reporters of press agencies registered to operate in the province. The provincial press agencies operate in accordance with their principles and purposes, strictly implementing the direction and leadership of the Party and State, providing timely, honest, and comprehensive information on life, economy, culture, society, national defense, security and the political system to all classes of people. Representative offices and resident reporters in the province perform well their functions and tasks in transmitting information, coordinating the implementation of social security activities, accompanying the spirit of performing well the assigned tasks.

At the seminar, delegates listened to experts introduce the results of State management of revolutionary press work in recent times and the development trend of modern press in the new period; solutions to improve the propaganda effectiveness of press agencies, especially the work of protecting the Party's ideological foundation in Soc Trang province; need to be careful in choosing quotes to include in articles in the political field; linking press activities; adjusting press on online information...
To develop modern journalism, the representative of the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism stated that it is necessary to review, develop, propose amendments and supplements to legal documents on journalism and related legal documents, in order to promote and support the digital transformation process of press agencies; have policies to support the state budget for the press to carry out political tasks. Propaganda to raise awareness of managers, leaders, reporters and editors of provincial press agencies about the important role and urgency of promoting the implementation of digital transformation of journalism in sync with the province's digital transformation program. Increase resources to modernize infrastructure, ensure security and working conditions in the province's digital environment. Press agencies need to develop specific plans for digital transformation, assess needs, identify the path and goals of their units, and then choose appropriate technology to implement. Create new models and information products on different platforms to increase interaction with the audience...
The seminar aims to review the glorious tradition of the Vietnamese revolutionary press in general and of Soc Trang province in particular and to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Vietnamese Revolutionary Press Day. At the same time, this is also an opportunity for experts, leaders of press agencies, and journalists to exchange, share, analyze the current situation of the press and propose solutions for the press to integrate into the new era.
