Kinh Mon girl successfully started a beauty business

Ms. Tran Thi Thu Huong (standing in the middle) was honored by the Provincial Youth Union and the Youth Union of Hai Duong province as an outstanding young entrepreneur in 2024.

Born into a farming family, both parents are farmers and freelance workers, Ms. Huong soon realized her responsibility to her family.

After graduating from high school, she enrolled in an intermediate accounting course to quickly get a job and earn an income. After graduating in 2007, she was recruited to work at the Honda authorized system in Hai Duong, then gradually promoted to a management position. From 2009 to 2018, she was continuously awarded by Honda Vietnam .

With the accumulated capital and management experience, she decided to quit her job to start her own business in the field of health and beauty care products. She distributed products for a pharmaceutical company and built her own sales team.

“The deeper I delved into the market, the more I realized that the skin care industry was very chaotic. Many spas sprung up spontaneously, lacking medical knowledge, causing serious consequences for customers,” Ms. Huong shared.

Worried about this situation, Ms. Huong decided to invest in intensive training. From 2022, she began studying general medicine and medical-standard skin care at many prestigious hospitals and research institutes in the country. In addition, she also attended courses and seminars in leading countries in the field of aesthetics such as Thailand, Korea, Singapore, and China.

She is certified as a lecturer in skin care at Hanoi College of Electromechanics and a general practitioner at Hanoi Medical College.

Up to now, Ms. Huong has trained more than 30 spa owners nationwide, creating stable jobs for 8 local young people.

After studying, researching and accumulating, she officially established Huong Tran Beauty Center, a specialized skin care facility located in Minh Tan ward, Kinh Mon town with an investment capital of 2 billion VND.

From just 1 spa bed in a small 20 m² room in 2021, her spa has now expanded to 120 m², including 4 functional rooms: consultation, skin examination and product display, skin care, body care and vocational training.

Ms. Huong also expanded vocational training for young people with a passion for the beauty industry. To date, she has trained more than 30 spa owners nationwide, creating stable jobs for 8 local young people. The center's average daily revenue is from 3 to 8 million VND, with a total annual revenue of 1.1 to 2.9 billion VND.

According to Ms. Huong, starting a business does not necessarily require a large amount of capital. “If you study properly and have a clear direction, young people can completely start a medical-grade skin care business with a small amount of capital, but with the potential for sustainable development,” she said.

Sharing more about the development orientation for rural youth, Ms. Huong proposed many solutions such as increasing capital support, organizing career counseling close to actual needs, promoting typical startup models to create motivation and connect with experts. According to Ms. Huong, these activities will create leverage to help young people boldly start a business and get rich legitimately in their homeland.

With her journey of starting a scientific medical-standard skin care model, Ms. Huong was honored by the Provincial Youth Union and the Youth Union of Hai Duong province as one of the 10 outstanding young entrepreneurs in 2024.
