This year's Oscars gift bag, however, is a little different. In honor of the Los Angeles wildfires that devastated suburban neighborhoods, recipients will receive a one-year membership to Bright Harbor, a disaster recovery service that helps survivors navigate what's next.

Lash Fary, founder of Distinctive Assets, the company behind the gift bags, said that in addition to the membership, each nominated artist will receive 10 additional memberships "that they can give away for free to friends, family, neighbors, even fans who may have lost their homes in the Los Angeles fires."
For the 23rd year, the Los Angeles-based entertainment marketing company will be giving away “Everyone Wins” gift bags worth more than $200,000 each to 25 Oscar-nominated actors and directors. The gifts are independently selected, without input from the Academy, which will hold the Oscars ceremony on March 2 (US time).
Other highlights of this year's gift bag include a private in-home show by a local magician, a DNA test kit that includes details of the nominee's history with a genealogist, and a coat for a pet dog recycled from designer clothes.
“This is California and it’s been a stressful week for a lot of them. So we have four different options for them,” Fary added, pointing to rose gold pens, gummy bears, pre-rolled cigarettes and margarita powder.
Skin care products, cosmetics in gift bags
Most of the nominees will not receive the prestigious Oscar statuette, but they can console themselves with a 4-night stay at a Maldives villa (worth 23,000 USD), 5-night stay at a health resort in Sri Lanka (worth 8,500 USD) and 5-night stay at a 5-star hotel in Barcelona (worth a few thousand USD). There are also skin care products, cosmetics worth 25,000 USD...
In addition to brightening the celebrity's day, these Oscar gift bags also serve as a promotional platform for small businesses, minority-owned brands, and companies that give back to the community, Distinctive Assets said.
