Teacher Pham Thi Van always feels happy when sharing her blood.

"For me, donating blood is a social responsibility, if I am in good health, I am willing to share. Who knows, the blood I donate will save the lives of patients in need," Ms. Van shared, adding that she will continue to donate blood and encourage her healthy relatives to participate, because "a drop of blood given, a life saved". Every time she reads the news that the blood reserve is running out, she worries, hoping that everyone will join hands, each person giving a unit of blood will help many others have more chances to live.

"I just hope I am healthy enough to donate blood. Knowing that my donated blood will help save a patient makes me very happy. In the future, I will continue to encourage my friends to donate blood, helping hospitals have more blood reserves," Ms. Van confided.

Mr. Nguyen Van Phung, Chairman of the Red Cross Society of Song Hinh District, said: "Ms. Van is a citizen who always has the spirit of donating her blood to the blood fund to save people. That is an extremely noble action that needs to be commended and rewarded. In 2020, after 20 voluntary blood donations, Ms. Van was commended by the Chairman of the People's Committee of Phu Yen Province. Currently, Ms. Van has donated blood 29 times. According to regulations, we will soon propose to the National Steering Committee to consider awarding her a personal badge for 30 blood donations and propose to the Central Committee of the Vietnam Red Cross Society to consider awarding her a certificate of merit."
