(Dan Tri Newspaper) - After buying 500 roses, Ms. Ha went to markets to meet mothers and sisters to give them as gifts and congratulations on March 8th. The warm hugs and tears she received from "strangers" brought tears to her eyes.
On International Women's Day, March 8th, Ms. Pham Thi Ngoc Ha (commonly known as Ms. Ha Pham), an English teacher in Ninh Binh , bought hundreds of roses and went to markets throughout Ninh Binh province to give them to mothers and sisters to celebrate this special day for women. The English teacher shared that she had prepared 500 roses to give to mothers and women at markets in Ninh Binh city and Tam Diep city. "For each person I met and gave flowers to, I wished them all the mothers, grandmothers, and women always radiant, healthy, and lucky," said teacher Ha.
"Every woman deserves respect and love. I also want to send a little affection and warmth to the women who have contributed to making our lives more beautiful despite not having many advantages," Ms. Ha Pham continued. Each woman Ms. Ha met and gave flowers to was unique: a vegetable seller, a pork seller, a chicken seller, a fish seller, an elderly woman, a middle-aged woman. They were all hardworking women, toiling from dawn till dusk to make a living. "The common thread among the women I met, shared with, gave flowers to, and sent best wishes to was that they were all surprised because it was the first time they had received a beautiful fresh flower on International Women's Day," Ms. Ha recounted. The female teacher continued: "The mothers and sisters were all surprised and very happy, feeling very warm, and smiling kindly and simply. They didn't know me, but they hugged me tightly and expressed their heartfelt gratitude."
Receiving beautiful fresh flowers from Ms. Ha, a complete stranger, moved many of the women. Some shared that they had never received flowers before. Others confided that the last time they received flowers on March 8th was 36 years ago. "One woman even cried just because of a single flower I gave her on this occasion," Ms. Ha said. After giving away over 500 flowers to strangers, Ms. Ha posted pictures on social media and received a flood of compliments. "These ordinary women, who work hard every day to make a living, suddenly received flowers and smiled brightly like flowers. Seeing those smiles, all the hardships and sorrows of life disappeared," expressed Ms. Linh Nga from Ninh Binh City. A street vendor who has been selling goods at the market for decades choked up with emotion: "After so many years making a living at the market, interacting with so many people every day, receiving flowers at work today is such a surprise. My children aren't home, so no one gave me flowers. Everyone in the market received flowers today, and they were all laughing and overjoyed beyond words."
Ms. Ha Pham further shared that the idea of giving flowers to her mothers, aunts, and grandmothers stemmed from the thought: "Every woman deserves to be respected and loved." "This is the first time I've made mothers, grandmothers, and aunts feel appreciated and happy with just a small gift on this special occasion. I'm very happy and grateful to have done something meaningful. In the following holidays, I will try my best to continue doing this incredibly meaningful work," Ms. Ha expressed.
Ms. Pham Thi Ngoc Ha is an English teacher in Ninh Binh. During the 2023-2024 school year, she organized 15 English and life skills education programs for hundreds of students in various schools. Most recently, she conducted a life skills education program titled "Love and Gratitude" for students at Ly Tu Trong Primary School and Ninh Khanh Primary School in Ninh Binh City, in preparation for International Women's Day (March 8th).
