In the context of artificial intelligence becoming one of the key driving forces for digital transformation and socio -economic development globally, this event marks an important step forward in educational cooperation and training of high-quality human resources in Vietnam. The GCI program has provided students with the opportunity to directly access fundamental and practical knowledge of AI, while expanding opportunities for international exchange and connection within Matsuo Lab's global learning ecosystem.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Prof. Vu Van Yem – Vice President of Hanoi University of Science and Technology expressed his deep gratitude to Professor Yutaka Matsuo and his research team from the University of Tokyo. Professor Matsuo is one of the world's leading experts in the field of artificial intelligence (AI), and his laboratory is always at the forefront of both pioneering research and practical applications...

Today, artificial intelligence is more than just a technology. AI is becoming a driving force reshaping the global economy and redefining how society operates. For Vietnam, AI is both a challenge and an opportunity. The challenge is that people need to quickly adapt, invest in new skills and integrate technology into existing systems. But this is also a great opportunity, because with the right investment in human resources and education, Vietnam can absolutely rise to become a leading country in AI-based solutions in the region.

Designed and implemented by Matsuo Labs, the program provides students with the opportunity to gain critical skills and practical knowledge in AI applications in areas such as consumer behavior and marketing, skills that are highly valued in today’s labor market and are essential for Vietnam’s future workforce.

Addressing the students attending the lecture hall, Prof. Vu Van Yem said that this is a rare opportunity to learn from the world's leading experts and participate in a pioneering effort in AI education in Vietnam. I hope you will make the most of this opportunity: Approach each lecture with curiosity, ask difficult questions, dare to step out of your comfort zone. Above all, think about how to apply the knowledge you acquire to solve practical challenges in Vietnam as well as in the world.

Immediately after that, Professor Yutaka Matsuo directly taught the first class within the GCI program, opening a new learning journey for HUST students, accompanying more than 6,000 students from 35 countries and 150 universities worldwide.
