Small and mid-cap stocks surge in bear market

In the trading session on June 4, the VN-Index decreased slightly by more than 1 point. In this session, the group of small and medium-sized stocks performed positively.

On the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange, the market fluctuated within a narrow range with weakness from large-cap stocks. At the end of the session, VN-Index fell 1.51 points (-0.11%) to 1,345.74 points; VN30-Index fell 2.59 points (-0.18%) to 1,435.28 points.

Across the market, stocks increased and decreased in price equally, with 153 stocks currently in green and 151 stocks currently in red. In the VN30 group, the number of stocks increasing and decreasing in price was 6 and 21 respectively.

Of the 10 pillar stocks, only 1 was green, 1 was flat, and the rest fell, but not by much. Therefore, the VN-Index only fell slightly in this session.

VNM was the strongest market support code, with nearly 0.7 points, followed by EIB (0.69 points), MSN (0.28 points). On the other hand, GAS took away the most points (0.53 points), followed by VHM (nearly 0.5 points)…

Today, small and medium-sized stocks performed positively. In particular, real estate stocks such as QCG, DXS, CRE, SCR, increased to the ceiling.

The increase and decrease in industry groups were also balanced. Among the rising groups, the specialized services and trade sector performed most positively, with an increase of 4.22%. On the other hand, utilities was the only sector to decrease by more than 1%.

Liquidity reached nearly 23,500 billion VND. Foreign investors bought and sold quite balanced. This group bought 2,331 billion VND and sold 2,340 billion VND.

The Hanoi Stock Exchange performed better. At the close of the session, the HNX-Index stopped at 230.83 points, up 1.89 points (0.83%); the HNX30-Index reached 474.63 points, up 2.16 points (0.46%). The total transaction value reached nearly VND1,600 billion.
