(Dan Tri) - After winning the Southeast Asian women's futsal championship, the Vietnamese team will participate in the Asian Cup qualifiers taking place next year. The Asian qualifiers are also where the team aims for a ticket to the 2025 World Cup.
According to the plan, the Vietnamese women's futsal team will rest for a few days after returning home from the Southeast Asian championship. Then, the team will gather from mid-December to prepare for the Asian women's futsal qualifying round.

In the qualifying round, the Vietnamese women's futsal team will be in Group D, along with Taiwan, Macau (China) and Myanmar. Group D of the Asian Cup qualifiers will take place in Myanmar, from January 15 to January 20, 2025.
According to the regulations, the top two teams in each qualifying round, along with the third-placed team with the best results, will qualify for the 2025 Asian Cup finals (the host of the finals is China, the defending champion Iran and the defending runner-up Japan).
With this format, it is not difficult for the Vietnamese women's futsal team to win a ticket to the qualifying round of Group D against Taiwan, Myanmar and Macau. Among these three opponents, no team is stronger than coach Nguyen Dinh Hoang's team.
After the qualifying round will be the Asian Women's Futsal Championship. In this tournament, Asia will have 3 places to attend the 2025 World Cup, not counting the place of the host of the World Cup Finals, the Philippines.

In Asia at the moment, if only considering women's futsal, only Japan and Thailand are clearly stronger than the Vietnamese women's futsal team. Iran is also a strong team, but unlike the Iranian men's futsal team, their women's futsal team is not stable, nor is it superior to the rest.
Thailand was just defeated by the Vietnamese women's futsal team in the final match of the Southeast Asian tournament, so we are now more confident when facing Thailand.
Other football nations including Korea, China, Uzbekistan, Indonesia, and West Asian football nations are not very strong in women's futsal. Therefore, the Vietnamese women's futsal team is highly expected to have a ticket to the Women's Futsal World Cup Finals, which will be held for the first time in the Philippines, from November 21 to December 7, 2025.
At the VFF Annual Congress held yesterday (November 22), the Vietnam Football Federation revealed plans to send the Vietnamese futsal team to train in Japan, aiming to win a ticket to the 2025 World Cup.
