Hai Phong police have arrested the suspect in the murder of his nephew.

At noon on June 18, Colonel Pham Hong Thang, Head of the Criminal Police Department of Hai Phong City Police, said that the unit had arrested suspect Tran Huu Con (59 years old, residing in Tan Uyen City, Binh Duong Province) while he was walking on National Highway 10, in Dai Thang Commune, Tien Lang District (Hai Phong City).

Immediately after being arrested, suspect Con was taken to the police station to assist with the investigation. Initially, the suspect confessed to murdering his nephew, Tran Cong Nguyen (32 years old, residing in Phu Hai 1 residential group, Da Phuc ward, Duong Kinh district) on the night of June 16.

Previously, on June 17, Duong Kinh District Police ( Hai Phong City) received a report from Ms. Thao's family (residing in Phuc Hai 1 residential group, Da Phuc Ward) about her son, Mr. Tran Cong Nguyen, who died in bed with unusual signs.

Through initial investigation, the Criminal Police Department determined that the victim died from being murdered by electricity; the suspect related to Nguyen's death is his uncle named Tran Huu Con.

On the night of June 16, the victim and the suspect slept in the same room. However, on the morning of June 17, Ms. Thao’s family discovered Mr. Nguyen dead on the bed with many bruises on his body, next to an electric wire; and Tran Huu Con had left the house.

From security camera data of local residents, police determined that Tran Huu Con was walking along the Hai Phong - Hanoi highway in the early morning of June 17, passing through the districts of Duong Kinh, Kien Thuy, and An Lao. Hai Phong City Police have issued a notice to search for the suspect.

This morning, June 18, people in Dai Thang commune (Tien Lang district) discovered a person with similar characteristics to Tran Huu Con, so they called the authorities to report it.

The cause of the above murder is currently being investigated by Hai Phong City Police.
