On May 7, speaking with Tien Phong , Mr. Nguyen Hung Tan - Vice Chairman of Tuy Phuoc District People's Committee (Binh Dinh) said that he had received information shared on social networks about the incident of a student in Phuoc Hung commune being beaten.
“We have directed Phuoc Hung commune to urgently work with the school and family to verify the information shared on social networks. If the information is correct, we will direct the commune police, the school and relevant agencies to investigate, clarify the cause and handle it strictly,” said Mr. Tan.
Previously, on the evening of May 6, Facebook users spread a clip recording images of a male student being beaten up by a teenager in a coffee shop.

Through investigation, the incident occurred in Phuoc Hung commune (Tuy Phuoc district). The victim was identified as L.D.K (15 years old), an 8th grade student at Phuoc Hung Secondary School. The recorded clip shows K. being hit on the head with an object resembling an aluminum basin by a teenager, then beaten with his hands.
Speaking to reporters, the leader of Phuoc Hung Secondary School (Phuoc Hung Commune) confirmed the information that a student of the school was beaten, and said that the incident had been reported to the police. The person who abused K. was a teenager who had dropped out of school.
Previously, Tien Phong reported that in the past two months, in Binh Dinh province, there have been three cases of female middle school students being beaten by a group of people in An Nhon town and Phu Cat district.
Immediately after the information was reported, the leaders of Binh Dinh Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Education and Training to coordinate with An Nhon Town People's Committee and Phu Cat District People's Committee to check the information content; strictly handle the responsibility of related groups and individuals (if any).
