A police officer and two militia members promptly rescued three drowning children.

Previously, at around 5:00 p.m. on May 19, when hearing people report that 3 children were drowning while swimming in the sea at Tay Son Dong village (Duy Hai commune), Mr. Tran Van An (police officer of Tay Son Dong village) and 2 Mr. Nguyen Tan Tuan and Nguyen Gia Tri (civil defense team members of Tay Son Dong village) quickly arrived at the scene to participate in the rescue work.

At this time, although the waves were strong and the water was deep, the men did not fear the danger, swam out to approach and brought the 3 children safely to shore.
