Speaking to Tuoi Tre Online on the afternoon of November 16, Mr. Nguyen Van Ky, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Hung Son commune, said that the search force for the missing victims in the landslide in Put village on November 14 had to temporarily stop work.
"After many hours of mobilizing sniffer dogs and officers and soldiers to approach the scene where the victims were suspected to be buried, due to heavy rain, thick fog, and strong winds, the force had to withdraw to the camp to wait for further monitoring," said Mr. Ky.
Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Phuc Truong, Political Commissar of Ga Ry Border Guard Station, also said that the weather in the search area is still very rainy.
Soldiers and forces had to retreat to a camp about 500 meters from the scene to ensure safety.

On November 16, Ga Ry Border Guard Station and military units continued to go to villages to assess the situation and evacuate people and property in areas at risk of landslides to safe areas.
The army also mobilized gifts to give to 200 households being evacuated at shelters in Hung Son commune (Tay Giang district, former Quang Nam province).
As reported by Tuoi Tre Online , on the morning of November 14, a landslide suddenly occurred in Put village, Hung Son commune.
At the time of the landslide in the above area, the weather was sunny and there was no rain, however a large amount of rock and soil from the mountain poured down, causing panic among the people.
The clip was filmed by local people showing the landslide that buried the mountain and many trees were swept away in an instant. From the mountain, rocks and soil poured down like a waterfall onto the people's farmland.
