On the morning of June 30, the National Cyber Security Association officially summarized, announced the results and awarded the prizes for the contest "Students with the Hanoi Convention."
After a month of launching and implementing nationwide, the contest attracted special attention from the student community with 33,136 entries from 156 universities and colleges.
The contest, launched by the National Cyber Security Association, will take place from May 21 to June 20, 2025. Candidates will study and refer to documents on the Hanoi Convention provided in video and text format. Then, they will answer an online test of 15 questions revolving around the content of the Hanoi Convention and legal knowledge related to cybersecurity.
The aim of the competition is to raise students' awareness of the Hanoi Convention – an important international convention on cybercrime prevention, which is being opened for signature in Vietnam for the first time.
According to the Organizing Committee, the 5 units with the largest number of students participating in the competition include: People's Security Academy, Duy Tan University, Ho Chi Minh City National University, Hanoi University of Science and Technology and Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology. These are all prestigious training institutions for network security and information technology in Vietnam.
The final results were determined by the Organizing Committee through a random draw among the entries that answered all 15 questions correctly. Specifically: First Prize went to a student from the Academy of Posts and Telecommunications Technology; Second Prize went to a student from the People's Security Academy; Third Prize went to a student from Duy Tan University.
In addition, the Organizing Committee also awarded 20 Consolation prizes to other contestants.

Speaking at the award ceremony, Mr. Vu Ngoc Son - Head of Technology Department, National Cyber Security Association shared: "Students will be the future owners of digital space in Vietnam. Through the competitions, we hope to create more passion for researching cyber security, while encouraging awareness of learning and complying with relevant laws. This is extremely valuable luggage for your future career."
According to the National Cyber Security Association, the contest is not only an intellectual playground but also an opportunity for students nationwide to show their interest in a historical milestone of Vietnam in the field of cyber security and international diplomacy. For the first time, an international convention on preventing cybercrime was opened for signing in Vietnam, and at the same time, the capital of Vietnam was also chosen by the United Nations to name this historic document "Hanoi Convention."
Following the success of the competition, the National Cyber Security Association said it will continue to coordinate with the Department of Cyber Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention (Ministry of Public Security) to organize the "National Student Cyber Security 2025" competition.
The competition will be an opportunity for students nationwide to demonstrate their skills and passion for cybersecurity research, take on specialized challenges, and interact with international students. The competition is expected to be held in two rounds, with the qualifying round scheduled to take place in September and the final round in early October 2025. The total cash prize value of the competition is up to VND 220 million. In addition, the winning teams will have the opportunity to practice at cybersecurity companies that are members of the Association. The competition aims to celebrate the opening ceremony of the Hanoi Convention on October 25-26, 2025./.
