After more than two months of launching and exciting competition, under the chairmanship of the National Cyber Security Association, sponsored by the Ministry of Public Security and the Ministry of Education and Training, on November 15 in Hanoi, the 2025 Cyber Security Student Competition officially entered the Final round.
The Final Round brings together the best teams selected from hundreds of teams from domestic and international schools, universities, academies and colleges. The teams will compete in two groups with different content and formats, demonstrating the diversity of professional skills and competition strategies.
Group A (Attack - Defense) consists of 20 teams, of which 17 teams compete directly at the Arena of the Department of Cyber Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention, Ministry of Public Security, and 3 teams compete online. The teams both protect their own systems and find ways to exploit vulnerabilities in their opponents' systems in a simulated data center environment.
In Group B (Advanced Jeopardy CTF), 56 online teams faced in-depth challenges in Web Security, Reverse Engineering, Pwnable, Cryptography, and Forensics. These challenges required strategic thinking, teamwork, and comprehensive technical skills.

As a result, team PTIT.CBS, Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology (PTIT Hanoi ) won the championship of Group A.
The two runner-up teams were: TPC1 (Tsukuba University, Japan) and HCMUS - Bingsu (University of Science , Ho Chi Minh City National University). There were 3 third-place teams and 10 consolation-place teams.
In Group B, the UIT-Reze team from the University of Information Technology - Ho Chi Minh City National University ranked first. Two teams, KAMA.0xG4ng, Cryptography Engineering Academy and PTIT.0verflow, ranked second. In addition, there were 3 third-place teams and 10 consolation prizes.
According to the organizers, the teams in Group A will compete according to the "attack - defense" model, thereby assessing their abilities in a real environment; improving practical information security skills; promoting teamwork and incident response spirit...
Group B teams compete with the same Jeopardy CTF theme as the preliminary round, but with higher difficulty and expanded with new topics on AI, IoT, and blockchain.
According to the competition organizers, the skill level between the competing teams is even, reflecting the great potential of Vietnamese students in the field of cyber security.
The Final Round is not only a place to demonstrate professional capacity but also an opportunity for students to practice teamwork spirit, critical thinking and practical situation handling skills, which are important factors in forming a team of future cybersecurity experts.
As a bridge between students, experts and businesses, the 2025 Cyber Security Student Competition continues to affirm its mission of training high-quality human resources for the field of cyber security, contributing to building a safe and sustainable cyberspace for Vietnam./.
